The KitchenAid Red Mixer 600: Product Review

David Hooton
Why the KitchenAid red Mixer? I ask this because I really like the empire red. Why, might you ask, do I say the Kitchenaid Professional 600 Mixer? It is simple; the large capacity six-quart bowls allow me to make any kitchen creation that my imagination and skills will permit.

The six-quart capacity allows you to easily double recipes. The KitchenAid red mixer (well any color really, but the empire red is the best) is absolutely great when it comes to huge projects like bread dough the 575-watt motor never bogs down like other stand mixers can. The flatter 6 quart bowls from the Pro series accommodates larger loads as well as makes placing ingredients in the middle of mixing easier. The special bowl also makes pouring a simple and clean task. Some of the available attachments allow you to make ice cream or ravioli or even grind your own grain to make whole wheat bread.

Kitchen Aid is one of the most trusted names and is easy to find accessories and recipes for. Other owners I talk to are similarly pleased with their purchase even those who bought refurbished ones. The only complaint I ever hear is some half-gripe about the noise volume but with 575 watts of power, the noise is minimal. If cooking for the troops or a large family gathering that needs a large yield for a dozen people or more the Kitchenaid Professional 600 mixer has the capacity to prepare several batches of cookies or two cakes at one time. The Kitchenaid Professional 600 mixer is still simple enough to operate that you can use it for everyday meals as it quickly mixes meatloaf or mashes potatoes in a minute. The clean up is quick and easy as the bowls are non stick also paddles, wisps, or dough hooks can go right in the dishwasher All of the working parts are covered in by easy clean surfaces.

The durability on this machine is amazing and if some how you do manage to damage your mixer, the helpful staff at Kitchen Aid can help you get it repaired quickly. The well built steel construction means it can take getting knocked around on the counter (I wouldn't throw it across the room but I would bet the wall would be more damaged than your mixer) and it does come with a warranty and a 30-day return policy.
