The KitchenAid red mixer (well any color really, but the empire red is the best) is absolutely great when it comes to huge projects like bread dough the 575-watt motor never bogs down like other stand mixers can. The flatter 6 quart bowls from the Pro series accommodates larger loads as well as makes placing ingredients in the middle of mixing easier. The special bowl also makes pouring a simple and clean task. Some of the available attachments allow you to make ice cream or ravioli or even grind your own grain to make whole wheat bread.
