Jenny went into this new way of life head first and felt guilty for betraying Tim and yet she couldn't turn away. In the process of her transitional change Jenny lost both Tim and Marina and gained a roommate and best friend in Shane. Not long after they settled in as roommates, a documentary filmmaker named Mark enters their lives and inadvertently opened old wounds from Jenny's past by making her and her friends unsuspecting subjects of his next project; showing us a more vulnerable side to the then struggling writer.
Though through her ups and downs Jenny finally found happiness when a publisher picked up her book Some of Her Parts; her dream of becoming a successful writer came true. However like some dreams, Jenny's came with a price - her ego. Let us fast forward to what could be considered the beginning of the end for Jenny. Her novella Lez Girls was optioned by Shaolin Studios where Tina is an Executive VP and Producer. At the beginning of season 5 no one has seen or heard from Jenny. Once she arrives to work at the studio to discuss production details of the film, Tina is surprise to see Jenny there with billionaire William Halsey in tow. It's William who suggests that Jenny be the director of the film; leaving Tina at a loss for words. The cherry on Jenny's sundae was the chance meeting of a fan, Adele Channing - the lost soul who became Jenny's assistant with her own agenda.
Adele was truly the bitch from hell that had pretty much everyone fooled with her sob story. She went from being frumpy and somber to scandalous. Once Adele got her 'Pretty Woman' type makeover from her boss, Operation Destroy Jenny went into motion. Now for Jenny, Adele was the perfect worker bee but she was unaware of Adele slowly sabotaging things. Remember the Turkish Oil Wrestling event at SheBar and Adele let the flyer slip out of messy paperwork for Nikki to find and lied to Tina saying someone else left it out? Adele wanted what Jenny had and was gonna make it happen by any means necessary. It was during the Pink Ride where Adele struck gold. Jenny and Nikki videotaped themselves making love and foolishly left the tape in the camera; Adele retrieved it and now had exactly what she needed to get what she wanted - to be in Jenny's shoes.
She blackmailed her way into the director's chair and assumed the role Jenny had in the production of Lez Girls; even having a lover of her own in BegoƱa - the actress who was portraying Marina in the film. Jenny's world at that moment literally crashed around her; especially when Nikki wasn't by her side. In true to form, Shane walked off the set with her; standing by her. Tina was also there for her despite the rocky working conditions she had to take from Jenny. At the wrap party Jenny made a surprising appearance and gave a heartfelt speech to the cast and crew and expressed her love to her nearest and dearest. She went to find Nikki only to be heartbroken at the sight of Shane having her way with the lead actress.
We now come to the final season of the groundbreaking drama that showed the world that lesbians are just like everyone else.
