The L Word - Lifecycle

The announcer of the Subaru Pink Ride gives a touching and inspirational speech to bring moral to the event. She wishes them a great ride and they prepare to ride off.

The girls are all dressed in their Team Dana uniforms with buttons to show honor to their best friend, Dana Fairbanks. Alice tells Tasha she's going to kick her butt on the road and Tasha laughs her off. She's then approached by two young ladies; old friends of hers are named Tee and Nicole, who she knew when she and Papi played basketball before she joined the service. They've formed a team called The Coco Girls; named after a lesbian club in Downtown L.A. Alice thought she knew all the lezzy clubs. Tasha lets her know it's mostly a black crowd; a different kind of scene. The girls invite Tasha to hang out later; she accepts and says she'll catch up with them later. Alice notices some flirting from Tee, Tasha asks Alice if she's jealous and Alice says no; they both laugh it off.

Tina sees Niki with Jenny and is furious. She tells Niki she's supposed to be in L.A. shooting for the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. Jenny tells her that Adele rescheduled it so it's fine for Niki to be there. Adele confirms that she did in fact reschedule the shoot at Jenny's request. Tina tells them they're not supposed to be seen together for the sake of the movie; not to mention Tina could lose her job since she promised Niki's managers this wouldn't happen. Niki insists that everything will be fine, she'll even wear a pair of shades and no one will recognize her. No sooner does she finish, a guy comes over asking she's Niki Stevens to which she gleefully admits to. Tina throws her hands in the air and says she quits. There's no getting through to either of them.

Kit sees Molly coming from behind and lets Shane know. Molly tries to redeem herself from what happened and Shane tries to blow her off. Shane wants nothing to do with her since she's uneducated like Molly told Phyllis. Molly tries to apologize but Shane doesn't want to hear it and everyone begins the ride.

The ladies begin their effort to fight breast cancer one pedal at a time. There are some conversations among the riders. Bette catches to Tina and compliments her on her biker pants; Tina gives a flirty laugh. She tells Bette she doesn't want Jodi to know they were fooling around behind her back. It's ok to say they talked about it but not that they acted on it. She really doesn't want anyone to know, except for Kit. Bette adheres to her request and says Jodi doesn't need to know. Tee and Nicole pass Tasha taunting her to race and she asks Alice to ride ahead with her, Alice says it's not a race but says to go ahead feeling a little distant from her.

Shane and Niki are at a rest stop taking a water break and having some small talk. Niki asks Shane how she and Jenny met, Shane tells her they met at Bette and Tina's party a few years back when Jenny first moved to L.A. Niki remembers shooting that scene for the movie. Niki then asks Shane have she and Jenny ever hook up and Shane quickly says no. Niki says friends are always hooking up with each other, Shane says that's not the case with her and Jenny. Niki's surprised that nothing ever went down between them since they're both attractive women. Shane feels just because you can doesn't mean you should. Jenny meets them at the stop asking Shane to talk to Molly because she's been following her for 30 miles. Shane moves on to continue the ride wile Jenny and Niki play a little. Molly catches up with Shane and says she'll race her; if she wins Shane has to hear her out, if not she'll go home. Shane accepts and speeds up. Molly tries to keep up with her still trying to talk to her. The ladies get to another stop on the ride when Molly shouts her love to Shane, causing her to stop abruptly in shock. Molly rides pass and Shane's behind her. They make it to the rest area, drop their bikes and Molly claims victory. Shane asks if Molly's in love with her, Molly only said it so she'd stop and is accused of cheating. No matter, Molly still won and Shane has to listen since those were the terms of the bet.

Molly doesn't know if she's gay or straight but she knows she wants Shane. Shane says they had terrible sex but Molly disagrees, it was great for her. Shane's been with so many girls she doesn't remember her first time, Shane was Molly's first and it was great. Shane was better that Richard, better than guys, with anyone. She goes on to say she's very into Shane and she will go down on her next time to which Shane stops her and says she's making a scene. She wants to know why Molly wants to be with her since Molly was using her to get back at Phyllis. Molly denies using her, she's never flown across the Pacific Northwest to chase a girl she barely knows, and she's there and really crazy about Shane. Molly wants another chance even if she's awful in bed. She may be a lesbian in training but she's a fast learner and before Shane knows it, Molly will have advanced to PhD in lesbian sex prompting Shane to kiss her as the rest of Team Dana looks on and cheer the happy new couple.

The ladies come across a room where they see a shrine with notes and pictures of women honoring their memory. They take it all in and Alice takes off her Dana button and places it on the wall. Alice tells Dana they love her and miss her everyday; Bette adds she's in their hearts. They spend a little more time there and Bette lights a candle honoring Dana's memory; they continue the ride. Jodi tells Bette she wishes Angelica was there, she'd love it; Bette agrees looking away afterwards as if to feel a little guilty about what she has to do.

The weather looks better, girls ride more and Alice takes a bathroom break; guess it couldn't wait. There's some playfulness amongst the group, water fights and all. They make it to their camping site where some are fairing out better than others with their tents. Alice asks if there's a hotel they can go to after her frustration of getting her tent together. Kit wants a car so they can finish the ride. Tasha's been there for a while hanging with Tee and Nicole. They invited her and Alice to hang out later but Alice doesn't want to leave the group. Tasha's cool with it and says they'll catch up with them when they get back to L.A.

Adele has put the finishing touches on Jenny and Niki's tent as the girls approach it and immediately gives Adele praises; they love it. Tina walks by sarcastically asking if it's the Taj Mahal, Adele tells her she had production make a product placement deal with (company name) and all they need to do is have Niki take a picture in front of the tent. Jodi's trying to help Bette with the tent but she's being overly aggressive causing Jodi to take a step back.

Jenny asks Adele to close the tent so she and Niki can have some privacy. No sooner than Adele closes the tent, the ladies go at it in their bungalow.

Shane got a tent on sale at Costco and Molly asks if they're supposed to have sex in there, Shane says they are and Molly seems fine with it. Shane hears Jenny and Niki giggling and playing around in their tent Shane says looks like a condo; Molly doesn't think she got that at Costco. Shane has an idea and asks Molly to come with her. They sneak up one the tent and Shane pulls a cord causing the tent to fall and they run off. Jenny and Niki are screaming and yell for Adele to help them.

Jodi helps Tina set up her tent who is happy to receive the assistance seeing as it's hard to do it on her own. Jodi likes putting things together but Bette doesn't want the help, Tina says Bette's a little OCD. Jodi asks Tina if Bette was moody with her; Tina says yes and that Bette can be moody at times. Jodi tells her something is going on with Bette but isn't sure what it is. She asks if Angelica's ok and Tina tells her Angie's fine. They are done with the tent and Jodi hugs Tina, wishing her a nice day. Tina feeling guilty, goes into her tent and set up inside.

The evening arrives and everyone is by a fire roasting marshmallows. Alice sits with Adele who's on her blackberry texting away. Alice asks Adele if she ever stops working; she tells her not really. Alice asks Adele if she's gay or not. Adele says it depends on who's asking; Alice is asking. She asks if Adele if she's seeing someone; Adele's single. Alice says they should set her up with someone on the ride because that's what these rides are all about, curing breast cancer and one night stands. Adele says she wants to focus on her work right now. Alice isn't buying it and goads her on until Adele says there is someone she's interested in but it's a secret; she's then summoned by Jenny. Kit notices Bette and Tina looking at each other and says she hopes Bette knows what she's doing; Bette has it under control.

Shane's in line waiting to take a shower when Niki walks up asking to cut in, Shane's cool with it. Niki notices thing are going well for her and Molly; she thought Shane was hard to get. Shane's says she's not hard to get; Niki says she's hard to keep. Shane's glad Niki and Jenny work things out, Niki's glad too because she totally loves her (check out the deleted scene here). They proceed to the shower and undress, Niki sneaks a look at Shane; she's already looking to explore other horizons.

Alice sits with Tasha in their tent letting her know they made a campfire. Tasha's just laying down thinking about reuniting with her friends and talking about old times, Tee and Nicole were a long time ago then it was all about the military. Now she doesn't know what it's about. Alice feels Tasha needs to give herself time to adjust, to figure things out. Tasha asks Alice what she would want to happen in the future. If she wants kids, to stay in L.A. and what would be her ultimate career. Alice eventually wants kids, she excited about the television show; she's enjoying herself on the show. Alice returns the question and Tasha says she just wants to be with Alice. Tasha feels they should move in together and Alice accepts. They make their way to the campfire where the rest of the group is making s'mores.

Shane's burning her marshmallows and asks Molly if she's hungry; she is. She asks if molly wants to leave and again Molly says yes but declines the offer to eat the burnt marshmallows. A few seconds later, Jenny and Niki are leaving to have some personal time of their own. The rest of the group plays around making the s'mores. Molly and Shane find a roomier spot to get physical in and it appears that Molly is true to her word; she went down on Shane. She asks if it's good and Shane tells her to breathe through her mouth and holds her head down letting Molly know not to stop.

Jenny and Niki are in their tent where Jenny gives her a present to document their evening. Niki happily opens to find a sex toy with a harness to go with it. Niki is taken aback by it but she likes it. Jenny wants Niki to wear it when they make love. They play with the camera a bit on each other. Jenny does a striptease for Niki and they begin their one on one fun. Little do they know Adele is outside watching their silhouettes moving; the wheels in her head are turning rapidly.

`Shane gives molly an A+ in oral 101 to which she's happy about. Molly wants to know if Shane will visit when she goes back to school; she might visit but Shane doesn't like the cold. Molly says she'll keep her warm, Shane will consider it. She asks Molly what kind of law is she studying, Molly want to be a public defender. Shane's impresses with Molly wanting to help out the little man, Molly says she's full of surprises. Shane concurs with a kiss on the cheek.

Alice tells a crazy ghost story with an interesting ending. After she finishes the story, Jenny and Niki emerge from their sexual escapade in the tent with masks and knives playfully scarring them and everyone taunts them because they could hear what was going on. Shane suggests a game of 'I Never' and Alice is up for it. For some of you who aren't familiar with the game here's what it's about - It's a drinking game where someone starts the statement with "I Never" and add an experience like "I never drank orange juice" and if you have, you take a sip.

Everyone throws out their I Never remarks and Tasha says she never cheated on her girlfriend. Some members of the group don't take a sip while others, including Tasha, take a sip. Tasha says she kissed another woman while dating a girl named Michelle. Bette says kissing isn't really cheating and the crowd is in an uproar disagreeing with her. Jodi feels that it depends on the nature of the relationship and Jenny agrees; if the relationship is open then it's not considered cheating. The conversation goes in another direction when Alice goes down the list of factors of cheating and Tasha adds thinking to the list. She explains if you're thinking about having sex with someone other than your partner, flirting with them, that's intimacy you're giving to someone else. Alice ask for a show of hands of who agrees that kissing is cheating, a few hands are raised, including Tina's as she looks at Bette. Bette is put on the spot by Tom because she didn't raise her hand; Bette feels it's a trap to judge. Alice adds more fuel calling Bette a big cheater, messing with Bette not knowing that Bette has in fact been cheating on Jodi with Tina. Jodi turns to ask Bette if she's cheating on her but isn't serious about the question. Bette's choked up not saying a word and looking guilty as sin.

Jodi asks again after Tina abruptly leaves and realizes she's made a fool of, especially when Bette can't look her in the eye. Obviously hurt, Jodi heads to her tent and Tom goes after her. Bette then follows leaving the rest of the group - except Kit - wondering what just happened. Alice didn't mean any harm, she was joking.

Bette tries to talk to Jodi who is inside not wanting to talk to her. Tom gets a text from her saying she Bette to leave her alone; by this time everyone's separated. Shane and Alice are in Tina's tent talking about what just happened. After surprisingly finding out that Tina and Bette have been seeing each other for almost a month, Alice asks why she wasn't told about it. Tina didn't say anything because Alice has a big mouth; the I Never game proved that. Alice asks if they're getting back together; Tina doesn't know what they're doing. Shane says she never saw this coming and after agreeing that it's all crazy they all take a sip of beer at the same time. Bette and Kit are in another tent where Bette's getting an earful from her big sis. Kit reminds Bette how crazy her relationship was with Tina - that they hated each other. She thinks maybe Bette is out of her mind or something. She feels Jodi and Bette had a shot but Bette lets her know they never had a shot, it wasn't working. She loves Tina, she's always loved her. Bette didn't mean for things to turn out this way even though she knows it turned out badly. She also knows that she's going about it the wrong way, she's doing it for the right reasons; she's trying to do the right thing. Kit feels that Bette's doing what's right for Bette.

Shane expresses how Jodi's going to be devastated; that she gave up her life for Bette. She's not trying to make Tina feel any guiltier by saying that; Tina knows that. Tina didn't want things to happen the way they did; she didn't even want to go on the trip. Alice asks Tina if she's in love with Bette again. Tina's always been in love with Bette and she hates what this is doing to Jodi but she wants Bette back. She's scarred because she knows somehow their going to mess it all up but this is something she has to do; she can't help that she wants to be with Bette.

Alice comforts her saying they belong together, Shane agrees. Tina says she hates women and Shane slightly agrees to that but you know she loves women. Alice says the situation is all messed up; Tina agrees as she takes a sip of beer.

Back at the campfire area Jenny and Niki talk about the evening's events. Jenny feels Bette and Tina should have stayed together instead of running away from their problems. She shares with Niki how everyone thinks she's crazy for falling in love with her leading lady. Jenny asks her if their relationship is an on-set romance or the real deal; will they last. Niki tells her they are going to make it and she's going to love Jenny forever; promising with a kiss. Meanwhile Adele sneaks into their tent and take the video Jenny and Niki made, switching it with a blank tape and slithers her way out.

The next morning Bette sits alone ob a pier crying over what transpired the night before and what she may face when she sees Jodi back at the camp site. Walking back to clear her area she notice Jodi's already gone, she wanted to ride home alone. As if Bette could feel any worse; she starts getting her things in order to complete the ride. As everyone finishes the ride, Tina looks in Bette's direction feeling awful about everything. The remainder of the ride is quiet as no one says anything.
