Joyce is in Phyllis' office discussing the divorce proceedings. In the midst of conversation, Phyllis asks Joyce to talk to Molly about reconsidering the hiatus she wants to take from law school. She feels Joyce would be an inspiration to her daughter. Phyllis begins to flirt with Joyce a bit; Joyce gently lets her down.
Kit, Alice, Tasha and Shane are at The Planet talking about the sit down meeting Dawn wants to have with the ladies to mediate grievances and lesbo turf. Dawn has clearly gone too far with the vendetta, don't you think so? Alice says Kit should go and see what the SheBar bitches have to say. Kit agrees to go, but at the first sign of anything shady she's walking.
On set Tina scolds Jenny for firing Greg. Adele comes by to say that William is on the phone and Jenny takes the call. Tina thinks it's hopeless but Adele puts her at ease telling her that William is making her apologize to Greg and rehire him. After she finishes the call, Jenny asks Adele to find Greg. Jenny announces to the crew that she's aware everyone is talking about what happened; she lets them know that Greg is no longer fired and walks off. Tina orders everyone to get back to work.
Bette and Jodi arrive at Bette's place after work and she's already starting to undress and brave the sweltering heat by the pool. Jodi on the other hand decides to cut out the middle man and gets in the pool, clothes and all. Tina calls to see how things are going and Bette answers with they canceled classes for the day because it's so hot. Tina wants to know if she's going to go to the SheBar meeting; Bette feels she has to go and Kit really wants her to be there. Tina decides not to go because of how hard and awkward it will be to be around each other.
Bette tries to get a chill from the freezer and put Tina on speaker phone. She and Tina confirm their therapy session with Dan for later on that day. Tina's called back to set and she calmly snaps back that she's aware and will be on her way. After getting off the phone, Bette lets Jodi in on some of the call; the session is because they are having some parenting issues.
On the lot, Tina tells Sam they they're going to shut down for the day. The power failures are costing the company money, Sam figured as much. Tina asks Sam out to dinner for sometime in the week. Sam gently turns her down and Tina slightly brushes it off but still feels a little rejected. Sam thinks Tina is a great person and the feeling is mutual, it's just that the dinner party was an awkward experience for Sam and she wants to take a step back until Tina and Bette resolve things. Tina feels a little guilty and asks if it was that obvious. Sam says it was but doesn't think anyone else noticed them exchanging more than just words. She apologizes but Sam's cool about it all. Tina tells her that they're having a therapy session to figure out how things can be really over and is cut off by Sam who disagrees. Sam however feels for Jodi, she thinks Jodi's great. As if Tina needed to feel worse. Meanwhile on another area of the lot, Jenny tries to find Niki. She knocks on the door of her trailer when and employee tells her Niki left as soon as they were told production had stopped for the day, leaving Jenny crushed.
By the pool, Jodi tries to get closer with Bette but she's not in the mood. Bette dismisses her continuous advances saying it's too hot to play. Jodi feels it's deeper than that and asks Bette what's wrong. With her back facing Jodi, she says she's in love with Tina and turns around to face her. Jodi asks if she said something; instead of repeating what she said Bette tells Jodi she's unhappy with work and doesn't want to burden her with it. Jodi reaches out to her but it seems that Bette has made up her mind.
Jenny's sitting on the steps of her trailer when Adele comes by and tells her to go home and rest. Jenny's written a love letter for Niki and wants Adele to put it in an envelope and give it to her. Before she does that, Jenny asks Adele to read it and let her know if it sucks and to let Niki know to meet her on set. Jenny goes to Shane's trailer and kicks it a little. Shane asks Jenny if she's going to the SheBar meeting. Jenny's not going; she wants to stay on set and wait for Niki. Shane doesn't like the idea because it's a weak move. Jenny says she's weak and Shane disagrees. Shane tells Jenny she's the boss of the movie and can fire everyone there; Jenny says that's not true. She wonders what Niki could be doing and asks Shane what she would do. Shane tells her she would sleep with someone she didn't care about. Shane is insisting Jenny go to SheBar with her. Jenny says she doesn't want to sleep with anyone but Niki; drying her eyes.
The meeting is about to begin at SheBar, but before everyone can be seated they must have their invitation and be frisked. Talk about being melodramatic. Shane brushes off one of the girls and Jenny makes a sarcastic remark before she's frisked and gives a shriek when she does. Shane says this is crazy and Alice agrees comparing it to a meeting with the four families while taking in the scent of a cigar.
Dawn and her lover Cindi greet the ladies and Shane, calling Dawn "Double D", wants to know what the meeting is really about. Dawn wanted everyone together to clear the air on a few things; some of the hostilities between the two businesses. Kit says Dawn started the war; Dawn says it was they who started it. Kit doesn't know what she's talking about and Dawn clarifies it for her. Her thing is she and Cindi came to L.A. to settle down and open a nice lesbian hangout. They, on opening night of the club, invite Shane to join them in a sexual romp among friends; Shane betrays that trust by seducing her lover Cindi. Shane tells Dawn she needs to sing a new tune and plus Cindi said it was ok. Dawn denies her claim and Cindi tries to speak; Dawn shuts her up. Shane asks Dawn to keep her mouth shut and let her girlfriend speak for once. Dawn says Cindi has nothing to say. Cindi calls her an asshole, thus confirming Shane's observation of Cindi's need to speak up.
The point Dawn is trying to make is that these things don't fly in Miami (well she's not in Miami - she's in L.A.!). Insults were traded and someone, she's not saying who, called the police on their bar. Kit justifiably shoots back with the fact that Dawn infested The Planet with rats. Dawn feels just because Kit has health issues at The Planet doesn't give her the right to have called the police. Jenny jumps in with Dawn trying to shut down her movie. Dawn says they didn't have permits to be in that neighborhood; production was disturbing her friends and their kids. Tasha feels the meeting is a waste of time asking Kit why she is even listening to these jokers. Dawn remains cool asking who she is and Tasha introduces herself. Alice emphasizes that she is a captain and Kit says Tasha's there to kick butt and take names if necessary. Cindi is impressed with Tasha much to Dawn's annoyance.
Kit agrees with Tasha; she shouldn't be sitting there talking but kicking Dawn's ass instead. Dawn warns Kit to be careful with her words; she's trying to be civil for the sake of both businesses. Alice says this is supposed to be a peace summit but Shane says that's impossible because no one can believe anything that comes out of Dawn's mouth. A mixture of words is exchanged until Bette cuts everyone off and asks Dawn what she wants. Dawn wants turf, they can divide the town. The Planet can have Wednesday s and Saturday s while SheBar has Fridays and Sundays. Bette tells her Kit wants Monday s too and Dawn agrees on the condition that SheBar gets Super Bowl weekend - done.
Alice makes another option of not taking customers away; Dawn says it goes both ways. Dawn wants restitution for emotional hardship, Bette thinks she's crazy. She wants Cindi to have a part in Jenny's movie; Jenny says she can be an extra. Dawn wants Cindi to have a line in the movie that plugs SheBar and Jenny instantly says no. Dawn tries to make threats to cause more problems on the set and Jenny tells her to go screw herself. Dawn slyly asks why she would do that when she can screw her. Jenny calls her tacky and tells Shane she thinks Dawn's psychotic and ask what she should do. Shane tells Jenny to give her a small part. After a little thought, Jenny decides to give Cindi the part of partygoer #4. Dawn also wants a shout out to SheBar on The Look, Alice quickly says no. Bette takes it further saying Alice doing that is worth millions for Dawn's bar, her point exactly. Alice is not going to promote SheBar when she's not promoting The Planet. Dawn says they are done and orders Cindi to follow her.
As the girls are leaving, Alice suggests the podcast. Bette lets them know that Alice will promote SheBar and The Planet, not on The Look but her podcast on OurChart; Dawn will take it. She and Kit shake on the terms. Bette asks how do they know Dawn will keep her word. Dawn says her word is all she has; they just have to trust her. The ladies part ways after power is restored in the club.
Max and Alice prepare for a podcast in the sweltering heat at The Planet. They enlist Shane's help in recording. The subject matter of the podcast is Alice apologizing to Max in regards to the negative feedback Max received from OurChart members concerning Max's podcast about being transgender. On top of that, Alice got raw feedback from one Kate Kendal, the director of the National Center of Lesbian Rights and an actual Guestbian on the site. She told Alice she sucked for the same reason - that being a transgender such as Max is not welcomed into the LGBT community.
Alice understands the point of inclusion but feels that being bisexual is more natural and transgenders are hard for people to swallow - they're different. Max's point is the main argument on homosexuality is that it's not natural; that it's not what real women and men do. And if Alice is going to talk about sexism, homophobia, and reproductive rights like she did on The Look, she needs to embrace transgenders as well. Alice takes it in and again apologizes.
Kit makes a couple of iced coffee drinks for Bette and remembers Jodi not liking them. Bette says it's for Tina; they're going to a therapy session to talk about Angie. Kit knows that's not true because nothing's wrong with Angie. Bette says they're going to talk about parenting; again Kit's not buying it and wants to know what's going on between her and Tina. Unable to look her in the eye, Bette says nothing's going on. As she walks away, Kit sternly calls Bette back to the counter. Kit tells Bette not to do anything to hurt Jodi, Bette says she's not trying to do anything. Kit tells her to be careful and Bette says that's why they're going to therapy. She asks Kit not to tell anyone.
Max does like working for OurChart. He says Alice is a way better boss; Alice thanks him. Max starts to talk about how his last boss tried to set Max up with his daughter when Molly brings Richard over to meet Shane. Alice comes over to remind Shane that they are working and is introduced to Molly; Max introduces himself. As a small awkward moment passes, Shane welcomes Richard to WeHo and they leave.
Bette and Tina are on they're way to see Dan Foxworthy to figure things out between them. She gives Tina the details about the SheBar meeting including the term of Cindi having a small part in Jenny's movie. Tina can't believe it and say that's all production needs. After getting into the elevator to continue the conversation, the power goes out and Bette begins to panic after nothing works in the elevator and there's not signal on her phone. Tina tries to calm her down; telling her everything is going to be ok.
Back at The Planet, Tom stops by to see Max while complaining about the L.A. heat. Max seems happy to see him and asks where he's been hiding. Tom had an art show; he's been painting like a maniac. Sparking interest, Max didn't wasn't aware that he was an artist. Tom is but not as big as Jodi as he would say it. This would give reason to why he's working as Jodi's interpreter. Tom takes a seat and asks where Grace is, she's in San Francisco. Max tells Tom it's really nice to see him while putting up the equipment from the podcast.
Tom says he's been thinking about Max which gives him reason for not coming around to The Planet because it's freaking him out (remember Max didn't get the surgery done but still considers identifies as a man). Max understands and says it's cool; Tom asks Max to sit with him. He asks Max out on a date. Max is surprised but accepts the date is set for later that evening.
Tasha's sitting on the couch taking in all of Los Angeles. Alice walks in and sees her asking how she's feeling. Tasha's feeling what 6:00 feels like and Alice joins her on the couch. Tasha tells Alice she's never been home by 6; she's usually stuck on the 405. For the first time she has nothing she's supposed to do right now. Alice touches her thigh; they look in each other's eyes and kiss.
It appears that Bette is somewhat calmer and wonders if Dan knows they're in the building. Tina is sure he's doing what he can. They talk about what the session could be about. Bette says Dan will ask what is it they want and Tina says they'll respond with "we don't know." The conversation becomes more real when Bette asks in Foxworthy form "What are you afraid of Tina?" Tina's afraid of messing things up again. "What else are you afraid of Tina?" Bette asks still in Foxworthy mode. She answers she is afraid of what everyone will think of them, judge them. How hurt Jodi will be. Bette tells her Jodi already knows something's wrong. Tina asks if she told Jodi about them, Bette's been cowardly about it. Bette says they don't share the same values like she does with Tina. Bette says that's why they were able to parent better when things were unpleasant between them. Bette goes on to say they both care about the quality of life; she likes the choices Tina makes. She like the things Tina surrounds herself with; her attention to beauty is important to Bette. They are both comfortable with the people in each other's world. They and dislike the same people. They both like to stay home on New Year's Eve.
It's now Tina's turn to be Dr. Foxworthy and asks Bette what she's afraid of. Bette's afraid that she's destructive. If she has something good in her life, she's compelled to destroy it. Tina says she was the bad guy too with Henry; she was awful with using Angie against Bette. Bette professes her love to Tina, she has no doubt she loves her. Tina's afraid that Bette's feeling may stem from them not being together as a couple. Tina says it's an affair; Bette doesn't see it that way. Bette tells Tina when she really searches herself it feels like she's at home with Tina; she responds with a passionate kiss.
Shane's on set with Jenny waiting for Niki. Shane adores Jenny but feels it's too hot to stay but Jenny doesn't want to leave. As they continue to go back and forth, Shane gets a call from Molly. Molly's at her mother's house alone and the power failures are scarring her. Shane scuffs off about it and asks where Richard is. Molly says he should be on a plane back to Vermont after his failed attempt to get her back. He was locked jawed and tight ass as ever so she sent him home. As soon as another power failure happens Molly begs Shane to come over.
Niki knocks on the door looking for Jenny responding to the letter. She sees a silhouette of Jenny who tells her to come in. Niki pours her love out to Jenny and deeply kisses her. When the lights come back on she sees it was Adele she was kissing, not Jenny. Adele tries to apologize for kissing Niki back. Niki tells her it's ok; Adele tells her she has to go to the production office to see Jenny. Niki surprises Adele when she says she won't say anything to Jenny if Adele doesn't. Adele looked a lot like Jenny in the dark; and still does somewhat in the light. Adele reminds Niki that Jenny really loves her; Niki knows and she loves Jenny too. Niki leaves to go find Jenny.
Shane makes it over to Molly who is happy she made it. Molly was really scared; Shane tells her how hectic it was getting here. Molly's not scared of the dark, she's scared because she wants to sleep with Shane, taking her by surprise and quickly offers her wine. Molly just rambles on to Shane; one point being an experience she had as s Girl Scout stemmed from a Truth or Dare game. Shane tells her they don't have to do anything; they can just sit and talk. That would be cool but Molly finds her sexy; again taking Shane by surprise. Molly goes on about Richard and Shane puts a stop to it; grabbing a candle as they go upstairs. Molly continues to ramble, because she's nervous of what about to transpire. Meanwhile at Max's place, Max thanks Tom for dinner and they lightly play with each other as they're kissing.
Molly and Shane make it to the bedroom and Molly pushes pillows off her bed to make more room. Shane notices her many achievements including an award for most improved. Shane plants her butt on the bed and after some uncomfortable silence, Molly goes for it with a hard kiss to Shane. She stops Molly and says they don't have to sleep together; Molly knows they don't have to she wants to. Making things even more clear, Molly takes off her top and kisses Shane again. Shane takes off her shirt and they begin to make out more. As they caress each other, Molly is taken by Shane's breasts, in a dorky (cute but dorky) way. The subject was changed when they start to make out again.
Jenny's wait is finally over when Niki arrives to again profess her love for Jenny's letter; Jenny cuts her off with a deep kiss and they apologize and begin consummating their love.
Molly and Shane are enjoying their literally hot evening when Molly stops for a second to tell Shane she looks like a really sexy guy but softer; Shane reminds her that she's not a guy. Shane takes Molly's hand and guides her in how she likes to be pleased. Molly seems caught off guard and Shane backs off and doesn't think Molly's ready, Molly says otherwise and pulls Shane on the bed to prove it. She wants to know if she's doing it right and Shane tells her she doing it perfectly.
Tasha's relaxing on the couch when Alice comes over with a flashlight and a glass of ice water. She places it under the lamp shade and gives Tasha a playful smile while holding the glass. She sits on Tasha's lap and takes her dress off making reference to the heat and Tasha says it's going to get hotter. Alice takes an ice cube and rubs it against Tasha's lips and between her fingers so the water drips on Tasha's face. She helps Tasha take her top off and Alice rubs ice on her chest much to Tasha's enjoyment.
As Max and Tom, Jenny and Niki becoming one and igniting their heat, Molly has a massive orgasm thanks to Shane and tells her it was amazing. Molly begins to return the favor but isn't sure if she can. Shane's cool with it and offers to show again how she can return the favor. Molly is truly enjoying what Shane's doing but freaks out at the sight of her mother in the doorway. Molly is pissed and Phyllis walks away.
Bette and Tina are lost in each other in the elevator and Bette brought Tina to a very hot orgasm that only she can do. Alice brings Tasha to orgasm and they continue making love.
After power is restored again, Bette and Tina collect themselves and straighten out their clothes. Bette says they'll take it slow and Tina asks how's Bette going to tell Jodi; if she's going to say it's because of their newfound relationship. Bette says no and it's ok she'd rather wait till after the Pink Ride. Bette tells her she lover her, Tina returns the sentiment. Dan meets them at the elevator asking if everything is ok with them; if anyone is traumatized. They say everything is fine; Bette says she thinks they really clarified things for themselves.
Molly and Phyllis are downstairs, talking about what just happened, Shane is outside the door eavesdropping. Phyllis says Molly should be ashamed of herself; she's not even a lesbian. Neither was Phyllis a year ago Molly says. Phyllis tells Molly that Shane's beneath her; she's sick of Phyllis coming down on people she likes. Molly says it's nice to be with someone who is a little uneducated. Phyllis thinks Shane probably went to community college, Molly doesn't care. She likes Shane because she's easy and simple. She may not be the smartest person in the world but at least she's not Richard. Phyllis doesn't think it's going to last and walks away; Shane quietly closes the door.
Next week on the L word

- Molly chases Shane through the Ride
- Jodi senses something wrong with Bette
