How We Were Raised
Sometimes, the lack mentality and the abundance mentality is not a choice that we get to make. Whatever our mentality turns out to be, it's often a result of how we were raised which affects our habitual thinking.
Lack Mentality Or Abundance Mentality
If we grew up hearing our parents say," I can't afford it," a lot of the time, then it's obvious that we grew up with a lack mentality. This means that when we face situations where we don't have the money to get something, then we'll say to ourselves," I can't afford it." If, we grew up having things provided for us, then we grew up with an abundance mentality.
Subconscious
You might not even know, what kind of mentality you have because it's a subconscious thing that you learned while you were growing up. As a result of this subconscious programming, you may act and behave in ways that attract lack that you're not consciously aware of. If, you have a lack mentality, it's something that you can overcome.
Lack Mentality
The lack mentality affects the way you see the world and the way you act in it. If you have a belief that things are lacking, then that will cause you to want to stock up on something because you don't want to run out.
Abundance Mentality
If you have an abundance mentality, then you believe that there's more than enough for everybody to enjoy.
How To Overcome A Lack Mentality:
1) The first step is to acknowledge that you have a lack mentality, and recognize it as something that is holding you back. The lack mentality focuses on not having enough and being in need.
2) The second step is to recognize where the lack mentality has held you back.
3) The third step is to shift your thinking to the abundance that you have in your life. This may not be an easy process, the lack mentality didn't form overnight and it will take time to reprogram your self to an abundance mentality.
4) Recognize where things are in abundance in life. For example, if there is an abundance of berries in a certain area or the abundance of air and plants on Earth.

Post a CommentGood article. If you consistently think negative thoughts, lack and limitation is what you manifest.
I think I must be in the "lack mentality" category.......but not sure what to do about it. I also have the "lack self-esteem" would that be another article later?
Very scriptural. Good job!
Good story for what is going on in this environment-everyone needs an attitude adjustment.
I agree with some of this and also add that it's easier said than done. It's also hard since people misunderstand and think that rather than learn to see the abundance that they do have, they have to strive to have more stuff with never satisfies.
Good info and nice job, Kurt. I agree with you, Michelle
