The Lake Fairy

In the Forest Dark and Green

Kathleen Shaeffer
In the forest dark and green
A fairy sits admiring the scene.
Amongst the beauty all around
She loves the site she has found.

She loves the stillness
As she lingers by the pond
Caressing the water
Of which she is fond.

The birds flutter overhead
In the solitude of the morn
The forest in its beauty
Makes you glad you were born.

If you go there for a chance
To see this glorious sight
Be careful not to disturb this fairy
Or she will take flight.
