It was a hit with the kids, and has become popular amongst young adults as well. Avatar: The Last Airbender began as just a Nickelodean Cartoon. Now in post-production as a motion picture, directed by M. Night Shyamalan. It is scheduled to come out this summer on July 2nd.

It's about a world of four elements. Earth, fire, wind, and water. Living in peace, being maintained by the Avatar, the one who has mastered bending all four elements (bending is the manipulation of an element. For ex. A earth bender can use the ground as a weapon. He can lift, move, throw, exc. Same goes for water and wind. The fire benders make their own fire to bend.). Then one day the Avatar disappears, and the Fire Nation brings war to the other three nations and war to the world for a hundred years. Thats when the new Avatar - Aang, is found, and must hurry to learn to bend all four elements and stop the fire nation.

Noah Ring plays Avatar. I dont know much about him, only that he is a 12 year-old from Texas, and also happens to be a karate star. Hopefully he can deliver in the movie, and his inexperience oes not hold him down.

Dev Patel is playing Prince Zuko. The prince of the fire nation who was sent to capture the Avatar, after insulting his father, Firelord Ozai. Patel has been seen in the Oscar winning film, Slumdog Millionaire, Patel winning 9 other awards himself. Patel is a 19 year old British actor.

Firelord Ozai is played by Cliff Curtis, a actor from New Zealand. He has been in major roles from films such as, Three Kings, 10,000 B.C, and Live Free or Die Hard. He always seem to have an peice with anger in his rolls. the firelord is an evil guy

Jackson Rathborne will be playing Sokka, from the water tribe, he is one of the two teens to find Aang. You may know Jackson from the well know Twilight series movies. He played Jasper, one of the Cullens.

Hopefuly the film brings its full potential, and makes it worth watching. M. Night Shyamalan has produced other films such as The Village, The Happening, Signs, Lady in the Water, and the Sixth Sense. They are all thriller movies that caught my attention. Perhaps Shymalan can do it again and make it one of the summers biggest blockbuster.
