The Last Place Baseball Team

Steven West
The team is playing lousy.

The spirit is very low.

The fans are extremely restless,

But they have no where else to go.

The team is in last place.

It's hopeless and so sad.

How could a team go from very good

To becoming a team so bad?

The hitting is abysmal.

The defense does not exist.

The pitchers haven't figured out

How to make a pitch.

The only ray of hope

For this dismal game at hand

Is the Cherry Berry cheerleaders

And the Wokomo Goodtime Band.

One day our team will muster

The pride that we once felt.

But for now I just shake my head,

And watch the team slowly melt.
