First off, the movie has no original thought whatsoever. The main premise is technology turns on the human race. I love Terminator and most of its rip-off's but this movie puts the premise to shame. So some corporation develops drone police which are basically human-clone cyborgs. Sigh...cloned cyborgs, how original. Anyway, the drone police turn on the humans for whatever reason. Tallis is sent in with his squadron of genetically engineered buddies to the City of Thieves to stop the drone army. Of course they are killed except for Tallis who remains hiding out in the city for whatever reason. Oh yeah, he is waiting for further instruction since he can't apparently think for himself. One day he rescues a female freedom fighter and decides to help her destroy the computer that is the drones "brain." The movie has tons of fight scenes with Storm Troopers, oops I mean Drone Police. Tallis manages to kill the main computer which disables the Drone Police except for a select few that have evolved to Imperial Guards complete with swords that make light saber sounds. Seriously, I almost died laughing when one of the guards first drew their swords. So not only does the movie copy from Terminator but it also steals from the Star Wars series. My personal favorite scene was when the last police drone removes his helmet and he looks exactly like Darth Vader with the creepy white skin and mechanical parts over the back of his head.
Secondly, the movie throws in a completely unnecessary and unbelievable love scene. Since the two main characters are of the opposite sex then obviously they have to hook up. Gross. I puked in my mouth when Katee Sackhoff started making out with Don Wilson. He is old enough to be her father. I did the math, he is 54 and she is 28. The director should have gone with the theme of making Don a fatherly figure protecting Katee.
Did I forget to mention Tallis has an artificially intelligent gun? The movie just wouldn't be complete without the know-it-all computerized sidekick. The final scene is of Tallis, Katee, and mangy dog walk off into the sunset. Any day that you see the sun rise is a good day. Please, even that line was borrowed. What a piece of garbage. I give the movie 0 out of 5 stars.
