"The Last Song" Plot Synopsis
Veronica "Ronnie" Miller is a troubled 17 year old who lives with her mom in New York City, but is forced to spend the summer with her younger brother Jonah in North Carolina with her father. Growing up, Ronnie was given piano lessons by her father, who used to teach at Julliard before divorcing his wife and moving back to his hometown. After feeling abandoned by her father, Ronnie gave up playing piano and absolutely dreads that she will need to spend the summer with him.
When Ronnie arrives at the beach, she ends up making friends with some of the wrong people and finds herself in situations similar to the trouble that she had in NYC. Then she meets volleyball player and aquarium volunteer, Will, and falls in love for the very first time.
I can't reveal much more of the plot without giving away the entire book, but I will just say that Ronnie finds herself enjoying new experiences and being very surprised as well.
"The Last Song" Review
"The Last Song" is, by far, one of the best books that I have ever read. It is a lot different from many of the other Nicholas Sparks books, as it mostly touches on family. Although other elements, "The Last song" mostly focuses on Ronnie's relationship with her father.
What I loved the most about "The Last Song" is that there were so many different layers to this novel. The Nicholas Sparks' book touches on family, love, the difficulties of being an adolescent, and even nature, as Ronnie and Will spend most of their summer guarding a turtle nest. Like so many other Nicholas Sparks' books, "The Last Song" also touches on religion a bit. It felt like there were so many different stories going on at once, which actually worked out really well in "The Last Song" because the reader never grows bored and is held in suspense in many different areas of the novel.
That being said, it is important to keep in mind that like many of Nicholas Sparks' books, "The Last Song" is definitely a tearjerker. While I have cried at quite a few books before, I have to say "The Last Song" is probably one of the saddest that I have yet to read.
Overall, I give this book 5 out of 5 stars. It is a book that I would definitely recommend to anyone, and one that I could definitely see myself wanting to read again one day.

i love this book/movie! <3
The Last song was one of the best books i have ever read. It was sad at parts and made me cry a little too but it was a GREAT book! :)
I havent read ityet way to lazy and ide rather see the movie
I diagree entirely with the previous comment who seriously has no heart. This book is indeed FICTION...just like you would never really see any sparkling vampires walking around Forks Washington in real life. What this book was, was entirely moving. I did actually tear up a little bit. This book was the first book I've read from Nicholas Sparks and it made me want to read more of his works. Each character played a different role in order to develop the plot. Marcus, Blaze, Scott, Will, Ashley, Pastor Harris, Steve, Jonah, and of course Ronnie. This book really knows how to tug at your heartstrings and it is a great summer read. The fact that I finished this book last Father's Day made me want to hug my father a little bit tighter.
This was one of the WORST BOOKS I have ever read. This book was clearly written for blonde retards who can't read at all. The plot was cliche and I knew what was going to happen throughout the whole book... by about chapter 2. NONE of this would ever have happened in real life, and it seems EVERY character had a horribly scarring backstory (i.e. "My younger brother died... I wasn't loved as a child...") In short, if you are the least bit AWESOME, you will HATE this book.
I must say, THIS BOOK IS THE BEST BOOK I EVER READ. you must read this (=
Hi Jody, Sounds like an interesting read.
