The Late Night Visitor

Whis is that Knocking at My Door!

Ricky Franklin
Someone was knocking at the door.

Should I answer it?

I am scared, much more than before.

Why are they knocking at my door?

It is the middle of the night, possibly around 3 or 4.

Yet someone keeps knocking, knocking, knocking, at my door.

The sound is one I now abhor!

Please, please stop knocking at the door!

I don't think I can take this anymore.

I am scared, but I must get my feet on the floor!

I creep silently towards the knocking at the door.

I look through the peephole and feel that I am done for!

Because there is no one, not a soul, on the other side of my door!

The knocking continues as I return to the second floor.

I am terrified and know that I must deplore, the thought of returning to that incessant knocking on the door.

Then I hear a click and footsteps slowly, oh my Lord!

Someone has come in through that door.

The fear grips me and I can no longer ignore, the fact someone has entered through my door.

I don't know what to do anymore.

I must escape, my emotions are at war!

What will I do, am I done for!

So I jump out the window, to try to run for the shore.

As the glass shatters, I turn once more,

To see him grinning at my bedroom door!

Then I hit the ground, and I see nothing more.
