The Laurie Berkner Band DVD: A Review

A Wonderful and Interactive DVD for Young Children and Parents

If you have a toddler, this is the DVD for your child! This is an interactive, fun, and educational DVD that is inexpensive and out of the ordinary. We have this DVD and it is by far the most played one in our house. We ordered the DVD and were surprised to find that it had an audio CD included. My 2 year old doesn't understand yet why there is no picture on the TV when the CD is played instead of the DVD, but he can still hear the music.

The songs are very interactive and great to play when your child cannot go outside to burn off that excess energy. There are songs about the moon, bumble bees, goldfish, and many others, in which Laurie, husband Brian, and Susie act out the motions, and kids get a kick out of acting out the motions themselves. It also helps develop their imaginations. Please note that this is the only video that Brian is featured in, as he left the band to work on some other projects, and was replaced by Adam Bernstein, a good friend of the other band members. The Laurie Berkner Band has been featured on Noggin many times, so if you watch Noggin, you have probably already seen how wonderful this band for children is.

I'm very glad we found this DVD. My son's love of the Laurie Berkner Band started after watching a few videos on YouTube, so I bought him the DVD on Amazon. I was not disappointed, and neither was he. I saved this DVD to my computer in case my son ever messed it up too much that it wouldn't play any more, and you might want to do that also. I would recommend this DVD, and her others, also, to anyone who has children around under the age of 8.
