The Law of Attraction and the $100 Bill Spending Spree Exercise

Janeen Clark
The following is an exercise that has appeared in a few of Abraham-Hicks books, including the last one I just read "Money and The Law of Attraction."

It is called the $100 bill exercise. You would be amazed at how quickly this exercise can be effective in helping you change your thoughts about money.

All the exercise requires is that you put a $100 bill in your wallet or pocketbook and walk around all day long "mentally" spending it.

You see too often, without even realizing it, most people walk around thinking and talking about what they cannot do, have or afford. Law of Attraction being what it is of coarse just brings you more of "not having it".

So the point of this exercise is to walk around for at least a few days thinking and talking about what you can afford to buy with your $100.

For instance, you put this $100 bill in your wallet and you go to the mall or a street lined with stores. Look in the windows and think of all the things you could spend that $100 on if you really wanted to.

I could buy those boots if I wanted, that jacket if I wanted, those pants if I wanted, that video game if I wanted, that book if I wanted.

The trick is to do this all day long. Don't actually spend the $100 - just mentally show yourself all of the different things you could purchase if you wanted to.

I tried this exercise about 5 or 6 years ago when I was going through a difficult financial period (I even remember the first day I did it) and it really was awesome! It was such a different feeling walking around for once talking about all the things I could have as opposed to the things I couldn't.

I hadn't even realized until that day how I had been previously avoiding window shopping because I didn't want to depress myself. That was when it dawned on me how "automatic" my lack thoughts had become without my even realizing it.

So try it today (or next payday if you need to.) Put an actual $100 bill in your wallet (it is important that you physically have this money on your person to be effective) then mentally spend it a thousand different ways.

Now some people may say "Well, it is only $100. It doesn't buy that much and it doesn't feel like a lot of money. But just think...if you have found 1000 different things you could buy with it - you just mentally spent $100,000. Far more than you ever let your thoughts entertain in the past. And that is the point. Stretching your financial imagination further than you ever have before.

Think of it like one of those expandable garbage bags. The more you put in it the further it stretches making room for even more.

Happy Creating!
