The Law of Attraction and Our Thoughts

Albert Adler
Why don't we usually get what we think we need in present moment? It's because oftentimes we don't know exactly what we want. We don't even know if we want it at all. Instead of clear thought about what we want we have some vague and formless ideas floating inside our heads.

Before you decide to get something first decide for yourself if you really want it and if you are going to do what it takes to get it. I can say with a confidence if you do not have something that you want then you have not made a final decision whether you really need it or not. In other words you don't need it. You don't want to have it. Are you upset? Are you angry about such a statement? You really need this thing and someone tells you don't want it. That is very common response. Nevertheless it is true. If you go inside yourself and honestly analyze your thoughts and wishes you will see there is crack in your mindset. It is that crack that drains your energy that is necessary to get the thing you want so bad.

Once I had a discussion with a woman about our thoughts and how our thoughts are related to the money we make. She told me the following story. She always desperately wanted some piece of clothes but couldn't get it. One day driving home from work she clearly saw that deep inside she was not allowing herself to have it. Once she undoubtedly understood it she made a decision to get that outfit whatever it takes. During a dinnertime her father unexpectedly asked her if she needs anything. She said that she dreams about that certain outfit and her farther gave her the money to buy it.

Another example:

One woman strongly disagreed with me on the opinion that we ourselves are creating the obstacles to get what we want. She wanted a CD player to listen to the music but could not afford it. She was absolutely sure that her explanation about lack of money was some real obstacle. But when we had a closer look inside her thoughts she found out that she does not want a CD player. In fact music form the radio she was listening was more than enough for her.

One more example:

One guy told me that he desperately wants to live alone without any roommates. He was sick and tired of living with roommates. But he could not move out. I was arguing that it was himself who was creating the difficulties for his move to a place where he could live alone. I asked him to describe the situation when he was a child. He said to me that he was growing up in a big family and never lived alone. That was the reason he needed to live close to someone else even if it's a roommate. This thought has been deeply rooted in his subconscious mind making a pattern that he was rigorously following in his life. Now that pattern was creating obstacles to change his lifestyle. Now he needs to apply a real effort to change his mindset to be able to move out and start living alone. And that will happen only if he wants it bad enough.

The firs step to get something in your life is your determination to have it. Then you need to define exactly what you want. I want to demonstrate this with another vivid example. A young woman wanted to find a boyfriend so she could get married eventually. Note that she clearly defined what she wanted. She started going to some social events to meet new people but she was unsuccessful to meet anyone there. Quite surprisingly many men started approaching her to talk and to meet her. Everything ended up very typical. She married a man who was working in the same company as she was and they knew each other for a few years. Clear thought and determination can create a natural miracle.

Working with thoughts is like cutting a diamond. You need to cut each facet of your thought in order to get what you really want. Are you familiar with the situation when you buy something you don't need? This happens because of the thinking process in your mind was not clear enough. First you had a thought to renew your wardrobe. You started looking for new outfit and could not find what you want because you don't know what it is exactly you want. Instead of clear-cut thought about what you need there was an unclear formless substance in your head. You wanted something new but didn't know what it was. Then you buy something you don't even know why you need it. Then you put it as far out of reach as possible since you don't need it. That's the way our thoughts work. That's the circumstances we live because of them.
