The Legend of the Lost Land Owner

Many people know legends about their town history. Here's a ghostly one about mine.

Legend has it that back when this area was one big ranch it had been purchased by a young mother who had no experience with ranching. Her and her son had received a large settlement from the insurance company after the accidental passing of her husband. They wanted to use the money to start their lives over again . Soon after they moved in they decided to go off on their own to explore the massive area.

So early one sunny Sunday morning they set out on their adventure. Mom on horseback and son leading the way on foot. Now I can't tell you for sure what happened out in that field on that blessed afternoon because I don't know. Nobody does except for the landowner her son and the horse. All of which were never seen or heard from again.

What I can tell you though is that on a cool autumn night when the wind is still and the full moon is high in the sky. You can still see the ghostly figures of the lost landowner, her son and their horse still roaming the land in search of the way home.
