1) The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Ocarina of Time has a complete new look compared to any of the Legend of Zelda games prior to this one. Link's mission is to stop the evil Ganondorf from obtaining the legendary Triforce. The Triforce is a magical object made of three golden triangles, which can control the land of Hyrule. In the beginning of the game you will find yourself in Link's hometown, and work your way to the castle where you learn more about your mission. Eventually you will discover that with the titular ocarina, you are able to travel through time. Thus you get to see the adult Link for the first time. Like all the other games, you have the ability to interact with the residents, including Princess Zelda, search for weapons and items, fight enemies, and solve puzzles..
This game is my very favorite, and the first Legend of Zelda game that I completed, so I perhaps am biased. However, I have noticed that many Zelda gamers list Ocarina of Time as their number one favorite Legend of Zelda game. Yes, I will admit, I did get a bit teary when I completed the game, heh.
2) The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Twilight Princess occurs about 100 years after Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time. You begin this game with Link, who seems to be a teenager or young adult, living and working as a ranch hand in Ordon Village. Link sets off to pursue a group of monsters who kidnaped two villagers, and is snatched into the Twilight Realm. Much to our shock, we no longer see Link as an elf, but a wolf instead, caged up in Hyrule Castle. A mysterious creature named Midna helps Link escape from his cell, and the two join forces. A meeting with Princess Zelda occurs, and it is explained that the Twilight King Zant is trying to merge the Twilight Realm and Hyrule into a land of darkness. Zelda tells Link and Midna to search and re-assemble the Fused Shadow. From then on, the two set off for the Fused Shadow, and a way for Link to revert back to an elf, and to save Hyrule from this terrible fate.
I still have not completed this game just yet, but I am truly loving it. It's definitely up there with my favorite Legend of Zelda video game. Also the graphics are breath-taking!
3) The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
Majora's Mask is a completely unique Legend of Zelda game. One must note that the Link shown in this game is the same Link from Ocarina of Time. Majora's Mask occurs right after Link is warped back in time after beating Ganon, to relieve the childhood that he missed. Navi, Link's blue fairy mysteriously runs away, and Link chooses to search for his little friend along with his horse Epona. However Epona gets stolen from Link by a strange Skull kid. Thus Link is forced to follow, and suddenly gets transformed into a deku scrub creature, thanks to the Skull kid's special powers. Eventually on the way, Link meets the Happy Mask Salesman, who agrees to help Link revert back to his former self as long as Link catches the Skull kid and gets the Majora Mask. Link, finds himself in a strange new city, Clock Town, which apparently is in danger of being destroyed within three days by the moon that has abandoned its sky and is falling toward the town. In this game, Link only had three days to complete every little side quest and the ultimate quest, which is impossible, thus he uses his Ocarina of Time to travel back to the first day, and has to keep doing this until he collects every mask, beats every side quest and is ready to fight the Skull Kid.
Needless to say, this game was very different from any other Legend of Zelda video game I have ever played. But I loved and enjoyed every second of this game! A must play!
