You are probably already planning the perfect spot to camp out until the truck with the newest book gets to the stores. "Harry and the Deathly Hallows."

But do you know who J.K. Rowling is? Where did she come from? How did she become such a well known woman? Come and explore with me as I take you through a journey through the life of J.K. Rowling.

In England, on July 31st 1965, Joanne K. Rowling was born. Her parents Peter James Rowling and Anne Volant gave birth to another daughter named Dianne when J.K. Rowling was 23 months old. When J.K. Rowling was 4 years old, her family moved to village near there home called Winterbourne. This is where she attended St Michael's Primary School. By the time she was nine, her family moved to Tutshill. Rowling had always loved to write fantasy stories even when she was little. In fact, she would write them and the read them aloud to her sister.

When J.K. Rowling had become a teen, her great aunt gave her a book titled " Hons and Rebels" By the author Jessica Mitford. Thus this book Mitford became J.K. Rowling's heroine and in turn began reading all her books. She then attended a secondary school at Wyedean School and College.
It is quoted that J.K. Rowling of her character in "Harry Potter" named "Hermione" is much like she when she was 11 years old. For an unknown reason, she has said that she is not very proud of it.

In 12th grade she became inspired by her best friend named Sean who owned a turquoise Ford Anglia. She describes him to be much like "Ron" from her Harry Potter series.

At the University of Exeter, Rowling read for a BA in French and Classics. She was quoted in saying it was a shock for her and that once she had met people who were more like her then she the experience became more enjoyable for her. After studying a year in Paris, she set out for London to be employed by Amnesty International where she was a researcher and bilingual secretary. While on the long 4 hour trip from Manchester to London she developed the idea for "Harry Potter." After reaching her destination, she began writing.

On December 30th, 1990, Rowling's mother who had fought a ten- year battle with MS had died. She never knew about J.K. writing "Harry Potter."

Rowling the moved to Porto, Portugal where she taught English as a foreign language. She then met her husband of a year named Jorge Arantes and they had one daughter named "Jessica" after Rowling's heroine. Rowling divorced her husband in 1993 and moved with her daughter to Edinburgh, Scotland in 1994.

She was now living on state benefits and was unemployed; she did however complete her first novel that year. She wrote at café's, whenever her daughter was asleep. This led to her legend. Now she is an amazing author and is the richest person in the world who has earned money off writing books. Thumbs way up for an amazing woman! She has sparked hope in all the potential writers who want to be best sellers in the world. Congratulations to her and her success!

I agree with you. This article was written when I first started writing. The great thing about writing however, is that you can always get better and improve and I have. With Associated Content, you have the option to sell an article, which means I can no longer edit or I would. But thank you for your comment and have a nice day.
