The Life of Reilly (Bill O'Reilly that Is)
You may not have known that Bill O'Reilly was a pitcher for the New York Monarchs baseball team in 1971. He later taught English and History at Monsignor Pace High School in Miami, Florida. He also received his Master of Arts in Broadcast Journalism at Boston University in 1976. Here is an interested tidbit of info. He attended school with Howard Stern. He also earned a Master's in Public Administration from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government.
Did you know that Bill O'Reilly is also actively involved with several charities? One of the charities he contributes too is Habitat for Humanity, which restores and remodels homes to make buying a home affordable for those in need. He also contributes and supports City Harvest. City Harvest is New York's only food rescue organization which is dedicated to feeding the hungry in New York. He is also very involved in Military charities.
Bill O'Reilly is also an author of many books, one of which is A Bold Fresh Piece Of Humanity. You can also find some of his books in audio form.
He has recently given up his radio show, The Radio Factor, to devote more of his time to his O'Reilly Factor news show. You can check your cable listings to when his show airs.
Some fun and interesting facts about Mr. O'Reilly you may not know is that he once was a correspondent and backup anchor for the popular news magazine show, Inside Edition. He did this for 6 years.
Bill O'Reilly has also won 2 Emmy Awards. One was when he was working in Denver, Colorado and the other when he was working as an anchor at WCBS in New York.
Mr. O' Reilly joined Fox News in 1996 and his show, The O'Reilly Factor, became the number one cable program in the United States.
Bill O'Reilly is highly controversial in the news stories he covers and his stand on certain issues. Even with all of this controversy he still remains a very popular, and somewhat well liked man. If you haven't watched his show, The O'Reilly Factor, or if you haven't read any of his books I urge you to just check the show out. It is always very interesting. Whether you believe how he does or not he is always interesting and has a unique prospective on issues.
