COMMENTARY | The world's most heinous dictator, Moammar Gadhafi, is dead . The sociopathic terrorist was the longest reigning leader in both Africa and the Arab world, and his regime was only recently shattered after 42 years in power.

It was said that Gadhafi was captured and killed during a battle in Gadhafi's hometown of Sirte. One of the fighters said that the former dictator, who was brought down less than two months ago, was found hiding in a hole.

At the time of his capture, it is reported that he was badly wounded but still breathing, and died in route to the hospital. Libya is said to be rejoicing. The field commander of the February 17 Brigade, which took part in the final assault on Gadhafi's hometown remarked, " Sirte is free. The whole of Libya is free."

Another fighter declared, " I am happy we have got revenge for our people who suffered for all these years and for those who were killed in the revolution. Gadhafi is finished."

In rare circumstances would I feel joy over the death of a human being, but if there was ever a true evil villain in the world, Gadhafi fit the description perfectly. Cheers will be heard across the world knowing that the nefarious dictator is finally gone for good. It is already said that celebrations are being held in the streets of Tripoli, with insurgent fighters dancing and rejoicing.

Gadhafi committed unspeakable acts against human beings and his totalitarian regime tried to control every aspect of its citizens lives. His narcissistic megalomania behavior was the key to his longevity and enabled him to take down his entire nation during the four decades of his rule.

Many Libyan women were held in prisons because they were raped because Gadhafi claimed they needed "social rehabilitation." Leaders that opposed the terrorist regime were hunted down and murdered, and Gadhafi lived a life of luxury and opulence while much of the nation lived in poverty.

The heinous dictator's violent acts were not confined to his home country. Gadhafi is said to have personally ordered the bombing of Pan Am flight 103, in which 270 people were killed back in 1988. The man seemed to thrive on the torture and abuse of his own people, who could not even have an opinion about what was happening in their nation, without fear of being the brunt of his evil and violent acts.

2011 is becoming the year that some of the world's worst terrorists lives have finally come to an end. First Osama Bin Laden, and now, Moammar Gadhafi is dead and gone for good.
