I love gadgets, so when I received my free LifeDiscipler to review, I was excited to open it up and get my hands on it. Of course, I'm not required to write a positive review of this little item, but it just so happens that I think its a pretty cool Christmas gift to give. Here's what I love about it:
1. It has an alarm you can set to go off at 15, 30, and 60 minute intervals to remind you to read the Scripture verse that it is giving you. You can set the alarm to loud, soft, or off. When the alarm goes off, you just push the button, and read your verse. So easy!
2. There are forty four different subjects covered by the LifeDiscipler. You can choose a single topic to focus on, or you can choose the LifeDiscipler to pick random topics.
3. You can scroll through the verses, choose verses to add to your 'favorites' or 'memorize' categories, and change the text size with just a push of a button.
4. You can get customized covers for your youth group, church, or business.
5. You can't delete it, crash it, or update it. It is self-contained and you don't ever need to attach it to a computer.
What I don't love:
1. The screen is a basic LCD screen - it looks kind of like the old, greenish iPod screens.
2. It doesn't have a back-light.
So while there are two features of the LifeDiscipler that I don't LOVE, I have to admit that they are a pretty small trade-off to keep the price-point on the lower side and to seriously extend the battery life.
I certainly would love to open my stocking on Christmas Morning and find a LifeDiscipler waiting inside. And at a price of just $29.99, I would even be tempted to purchase one for my own stocking! But seriously, this is a great little gadget that will help keep God's Word in your mind and close to your heart all day long, making it an invaluable tool to assist you in your Christian walk. They make great gifts for everyone on your list because we ALL need some extra help in this busy time to stay close to God's Word. To order, visit www.lifediscipler.com and enter the code "GROW20" for twenty percent off of your LifeDiscipler purchase through December 30th, 2010.
Merry Christmas and God Bless!
