The Lighthouse Point Day Spa in Lighthouse Point, Florida is part of the Merle Norman Cosmetic Store. I'm afraid you might not even know it's there unless you've stopped in the store and picked up a brochure or had your manicure, pedicure there.

When you walk into the Merle Norman Cosmetic Store you see shelves of wonderful jewelry, handbags, hair ornaments, key chains and more accessories behind the counter on the right and on the counter. To the left is a wall of cosmetics by Merle Norman and a cosmetic make up table where you can have the product demonstrated by getting a free make over. It's a very attractive, pleasant store with a lot to offer.

The Spa itself is located in the rear. It's very small. There is a maniciure table a pedicure chair which is heated and offers massage and the massage room and facial room . The Pedicure in the heated chair is extremely relaxing. They also put a heated, aromatherapy pillow on your neck during your pedicure. Being a very small set up does mean you need to book in advance since they can only handle one or two customers in the Spa at once. It also means you cannot do teenparties or shower parties here. The up side is you will have the place all to yourself basically.

They offer several packages: Pamper Me which includes European Facial, Swedish Massage, Manicure and Pedicure for $170.00. The De Stress My Day offers European Facial and Swedish Massage for $130.00 or Let's Party, a European Facial, Manicure and Pedicure for $105.00. Each of these would make a delightful gift.

If you're interested in waxing you have quite a selection running from $8.00 for lip or chin all the way up to $50.00 for a Brazilian wax. In between these there is full face, full arm, lower arm, brow, half leg, full leg, bikini, thong bikini and under arm. You can also opt for the Brow Wax to Perfection which includes tweezers shaping your arch and a warm eye compress and massage for $25.00.

If you would like a body treatment you can get Salt Glo at 45 minutes for $75.00. You will be rubbed with Sea Salt and Essential Oils for exfolitaion. A mini massage is included. If you choose the Seaweed Wrap you will be concentrating on destressing and invigoration with a mini massage thrown in for $85.00. Lastely there is Seaweed/Salt Glo in a combination package for $145.00.

For your skin there are numerous facials, deep cleaning, hydrating, delicate skin and anti aging. These can be combined with Aromatherapy and Dermolyse. Dermolyse is a cell renewal treatment for dull tired skin for $30.00 additional. They offer peels in 30 minutes which include fruit acid and alpha hydroxy, glycolic and lactic acid. They suggest a series of these for best results at $35.00 a session. For removing sun damage you can opt for the Professional Chemical Peel Modifide Jessner. This requires a one week down timeand you wllneed to stay out of the sun. $150.00 is the cost. There are more options, of course and all kinds of combinations.

The menu for massage includes, Swedish, Deep Tissue, Pregnancy, a Reflexology Foot Massage, regular Reflexology, Aromatherapy Massage and a yummy Hot Stone Massage, the most expensive one at $90.00. All of these are done by a professional and are extremely relaxing. I've been lucky enough to get several of these as gifts.

For the manicure pedicure choices you can get a simple manicure for only $14.00 with French an additional $4.00 . French is lovely on hands or feet. They will do a Paraffin treatment for hands or feet, a Menthol & Eucalyptus or Sea Botanical & Aloe Vera Foot Mask for $10.00 each.

The store is wheelchair accessible and has easy parking. They are open Sunday day Noon to 6 pm , by appointment evenings and Monday through Saturday 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. I think it's a little gem tucked away here. It's certainly well worth a visit whether it's for make up, a spa treatment or just shopping for a great gift for yourself or someone else.
