The Listening Heart, a Poem About Eternal Love

The Listening Heart, Some Loves Never Die

Listening Heart

Listen with your eyes
But hear it with your heart
Your voice is very soft
And yet we are so far apart.

I have longed to hold you
and caress your tender lips
maybe have you encircle
my waist and lonely hips.

But distance holds us
So very far at bay
I sometimes wonder
If we will have 'our' day.

If it does finally come
I promise a memory to behold
One that is lasting and
Will never grow cold.

For loving you has been and
Will be my heart's desire
and not even distance or time
Will put out this fire

I'll cherish your words
Your voice oh so sweet
Until time graces us
With the next time we meet.

    The poetic muse
    Flows through the arterial soul-
    And out fingers to pen
To help make the world whole.

    Nicely done!
(And, as you can see, an inspiration.)
