The Little Girl

umashree pancholy
I am still a little girl
Trying to grow up
I listen to the voices
And try to follow them

What will I be?
I just don't know
Too much confusion in my mind
Like the rickshaw's on university streets
I get lost and find myself at the same time

Who am I?
I just don't know
My life is brilliantly made up of failures
And faith blindens me
I take failures to the face
They offer me wisdom
For I have nothing to lose, friend.

Where am I coming from?
I come from the open grassland
From the hunt and the chase
From the heart of my god
I was born free, to run wild.

Where am I heading to?
I seek freedom
I seek eternity of my wisdom
I fly from place to place
In search of an answer
To which the question lies.

I am still a little girl
Trying to grow up
I listen to the voices
And wake up to reality
