The Little Girl Who Lost Her Curls

The Girl with the Dirty Blonde Hair

ginny1
This is the story about a little girl, who lived in the city, in Pa. She had the prettiest dirty blonde hair, that you have ever seen. It was filled with all kinds of curls, almost like ringlets, in her hair. Her eyes sparkled like gold, and her smile was always there. She never was sad, or if she was she didn't tell anybody.. One day, her mother decided to get her hair, permed. She purchased one of the first home hair perminents, that was available. So her friend, who lived up the street, came in the kitchen to get started. The little girl wanted to help, so her mother said, you hand me all the papers and wet them first in this solution, and then you will be helping, too. So Lets say, Pam was wetting the papers as her mother was getting a perm. She dipped the paper in the solution and handed it to her mother. Then, she reached her wet fingers up to scratch her head, at that very instant, every curl in her hair, fell completly out. You should of saw her expression, then. Such sorrow. Her hair went completly straight, and from that day foward, she had no curls. And to this day, her hair is straight. They say, she was never the same, after her curls fell out. Her hair was so pretty, that everybody, noticed the girl with the dirty blonde hair. All of a sudden, she felt like an ugly duckling. No smile, no joy, and No curls. Everybody started to treat her differently, then. And the kids didn't want to play with her anymore. She was a very sad, little girl. I often wonder what happened to her.? I often wondered what color her hair is now? I wonder if the joy ever came back.? So many questions to ask. I guess she moved to the country, with her family. And her mother never again got another perm. Neither did Pam.

I read on a hairbrush label, that it would straighten your hair. Which makes me wonder if all this time, I have been using a nylon brush, and it was taking the curl right out of my hair. I guess, you arn't suppose to brush your hair, if you want it to be curly. For 60 years, I have been brushing my hair with the exact same kind of hairbrush, and never bothered to read the label. Here come to find out, the bristles and the curve on the brush, are designed to straighten your hair.

How about that!!!
