The Little Known Secret of Why You Shouldn't Be Driving

A Brewster Smythe
Lots of creative types run dry on occasion and there are millions, if not billions, of websites online to kick start your engines -give you a little artistic kick in the butt! Content is obviously king online and if you are just learning that well- hmm. Anyway, I wanted to share one of my motivators.

My favorite is Yahoo Answers!

Recently, as I meandered through the wildly intelligent questions, I found one that I had to share with the reading public because I felt it was so important to national health and welfare.

Here was the question:

"I have trouble staying in my lane while driving, what should I do?"

Now, there were 7 answers to this disturbing questions and I really don't want to summarize them all, but I do want to add my own answer in this short and sweet article.

My answer?

Stay off the road!

If you cannot stay in your lane for any reason, walk!

Here are the best five reasons to walk instead of drive when you cannot keep your car in your own lane.

1) It will enhance your health. If you have any type of weight challenge, walking on a regular basis will curb that weight- and tone you at the same time.

2) It will enhance the health of others. If you cannot stay in your lane while driving your car, it stands to reason that eventually you will hit a person, or an animal. This occurrence would probably not help these living things.

3) You will promote walking in others. When people see others walking, they seem to want to get out there themselves. Walking is free, takes no real sports equipment, except a good pair of shoes, and is never crowded.

4) You will help the environment by taking one car off the road. Just think of how much you will lower your carbon footprint by no longer driving.

5) If you actually get rid of your car for good (recommended when not able to keep car in lane) you will actually save $8000.00 a year in transportation costs. Walking, biking, taking a bus- all of these can replace you behind a wheel. You, who cannot stay in your lane when driving. You - who may have a variety of medical problems that is causing you to be unable to drive properly.

So!

My advice- Get yourself to a doctor, find out why you can't drive. And, don't drive till you do!.

If this person was a new driver, then cut him/her some slack. People were telling her to not drive since she couldn't drive straight. I agree that she shouldn't be on difficult or major roads but without practice she's never going to learn. Give her tips instead of condemnation. No one is going to ride the bus the rest of their lives. Like it or not, there are people who aren't naturally Dale Earnhardts and they are going to be out there driving. It's in our best interest to try to help them out, not ridicule, condemn or jump to conclusions.
