The Little Rock 9

Janet
September 1957 just another day in Little Rock, Arkansas ~ Oh, except for the fact that President Eisenhower has just sent in the 101 Airborne of the United States Army [Airborne] "Operations Arkansas" in to Little Rock Central High School. The Airborne established a perimeter of the school grounds in order to uphold the Supreme Court decision of Brown v. Board of Education [1954] . The Screaming Eagles would escort the Little Rock 9 to school every morning and they quickly stabilize the area.

This all started when the [1868] 14th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States said all citizens had rights to equality including equal protection.

In 1896 ~ 58 years before Brown vs. The Board of Education the status quo 'separate but equal' as was found in Plessy vs. Ferguson was not going to continue. Plessy vs. Ferguson [1896].
