The Little Sisters of the Poor Seeking Volunteers

The Little Sisters Of The Poor Home For The Aged located at 2325 North Lakewood Avenue in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago has volunteering opportunities if you're interested in helping their residents. Every time time I spoke with one of the residents, I could see how happy they were to share their their memories and experiences with me. They currently have a variety of different opportunities available such as visiting with the residents either on weekends or during the week, as many of the residents do not have family or visitors to brighten their day, and your visit would be a very special experience for them. They also have opportunities include helping serve the residents their meals, helping with bingo games, special events and birthday parties and helping the residents bake. The Sisters and residents often bake to help raise money for their Mission.
Other ways you can volunteer include driving the residents to and from their medical appointments, accompanying them to and from appointments and helping with rummage sales.
