The Long Wait

Little Mel

"How long have we been waiting?"

"About ten minutes."

"You've got to be kidding me! I can't stand this much longer."

"I know, Tim, but there's nothing I can do."

"Ugh, the waiting makes it so much worse. I feel like I want to cry or explode or both. I'm getting really anxious."

"So am I."

"Well, what about the other one? Is that ready?"

"Not yet, soon."

"Look, Becky, I don't mean to get testy with you, but like you said we've been standing here for ten minutes, waiting. Don't they know we need this bad?"

"Relax; you're going to make it worse for yourself. Just don't think about it and the time will go by quicker."

"Can't we just go to a different place for this? Some place we can get to it quicker?"

"Tim, it took us a while to find a place that allowed us. What if we can't do it again?"

"I suppose you have a point. I am at least going to ask for an time estimate."

"That's fine"

With a look of anxiety on his face, Tim walked up to a man in a white coat. On the coat was a name tag that read, "Ben" and underneath a title indicating Ben was the Pharmacist.

"Excuse me" said Tim, "I was just wondering when you're going to finish cleaning your bathrooms? My sister and I really need to pee and you're the only store within six blocks that said okay to us using the store's restrooms."
