For the "Maine" Character Garraty I would use me, not because its the main character but because he has a friend named Mcvries who is very fit and likes to walk or he wouldn't have participated in the Long Walk at all. Well, I may not be the fittest person but i have good endurance and like to walk around town with my friend Austin. Garraty is from "Maine" and he joins 100 other boys in The Long Walk. He makes a ton of friends during the walk and I make plenty of friends when I partake in an activity. That's most of the reason I would use me as Garraty in this story.
On the other hand I would chose Austin to play as McVries because he is my best friend and he is a sports freak to. In the story Mvries becomes Garraty's best friend and they look after each other like me and Austin do. They become like brothers and Austin and I over the years treat each other like brothers. Their personalities are alike too, they stick up for each other when other guys start to annoy, like "Barkovitch". thats why I would chose Austin as McVries.
As for Yannik and Watson I would use Austin and Jonathon because these two characters always are fighting and arguing during the walk as do Austin and Jon. They can never come to an agreement to stop fighting. The characters in the book finally agree with each other before their unimaginable deaths. I feel Austin and Jon can come to an agreement one of these days. Thats why I'd chose them because of their conflict.
Olson is an important part of this story because once, he starts to give up, but he pulls enough strength out to finish the job. I would use Sammy Heath for Olsen's character because during football season he was going to give up because he didn't think he could run as fast as some of the other players but he didn't give up and got to the point were he just kept trying and eventually found out he is fast enough. Some times, Olsen can be a little cocky, so can Skyler. Their personalities are alike that's why I'd chose Skyler as Olsen.
Harneck is a Character that loves prizes and writing stories, so I would use Shawn, one of my old friends to play him. Harneck goes around asking personal things and other stuff about the people in the Long Walk to write stories about them if he survives The Long Walk and receives the prize. He plans to make some extra money on a book he wants to publish called, The Long Walk. Shawn basically does the same only not for money but just because he is nosy and likes to write. Every time I turned around Shawn would be asking me, "Hunter want to make some stories?" Thats why I'd use Shawn.
Stebbins is a stuck up contestant that thinks he knows everything so, I would use Chris. Stebbins goes around talking about how great he is because he saw the first Long Walk and he tells everybody about it and acts like he's on top of the world through the whole book. Chris will try to tell someone something and if they disagree, instead of being reasonable he will whine and explain that if he isn't right no one is. That's why I'd chose Chris.
Rank is a small character in this book. His scene is small but he thinks he can just punk out anybody, so I chose Terry as him. He thinks he can just punk people around. Rank was acting all tough guy and swings at Barkovitch, falls and loses the competition and his life. I feel Terry is going to run in to the wrong person one day and learn who the tough guy is.
The last person is Pearson, he sticks up for everybody, like when people were gaining up on Barkovitch because he is annoying, Pearson stood up and told the bullies off and to leave Barkovich alone. So I would choose Mr.Dean because if he sees a kid getting picked on or something he doesn't let it go until he knows it wont happen again.
