Its appearance bothered me so
I tugged at it to make it disappear
But my tugging caused more threads to show
In my impatience to make things perfect
I destroyed more than I repaired
A beautiful sweater began to unravel
For the mess I caused, I was quite unprepared
If I had only taken a bit of time
To examine the thread at its base
I would still have my beautiful sweater
Now, I look for another to wear in its place
Life is sometimes like the loose thread
We rush to make a quick correction
But in our haste to make things look right
We never achieve our sought after perfection
There will always be a loose thread hanging
Your first instinct is to rip it away
But before you take that fast, drastic action
Pause and see the price you will pay
How essential is that loose thread?
Is it the strand that holds everything together?
If you tear it away without much thought
Can you live with what you might lose forever?
