That little lamb is me.
He has me cradled in His arms.
There is no safer place I could be.
Sometimes I squirm and jump out of His arms.
He's disappointed, no doubt.
He watches as I try to go on my own. He knows; what I soon will find out.
The world can be a dangerous briar thicket, full of thorns and deep ravines.
The Shepherd has His shepherd's crook to pull me back
He's always on the scene.
I would be so much better off if I ask His advice and permission
on any venture I want to make.
If I get His blessing first I won't have to fear any path I take.
So, Father in Heaven, I'm asking You to help me understand Your plan and will for me.
Help me to stay within my Shepherd's arms.
The safest place I can be.
