The Lord's Most Humble Act

Brett Davison
Alone with Him
Worshipping in the Cathedral
Giving myself over to His love and mercy

It can't have been more than a week
Yet it feels like so much more

What have I done since then?
How many have I hurt?
How far did I fall?

I have stumbled on my path
I have burdened myself with guilt
I have fought my impulses and instincts

So here I am
Filled with His presence

My Lord kneels
My Lord weeps

His love
His grace
His mercy
His tears
They are spent on my filthy, bloodied feet

The Alpha and Omega
The great I AM
The Maker of all things...
Is washing away my guilt
My weariness
My petty concerns

I can't understand it
I can't deserve it
I can't take it

He's not the only one crying now

His mercy is well-beyond all human understanding...His Heart is perfect...He loves and forgives...We don't really deserve His love and mercy, but He gives it freely, especially to those who repent and do what they can to amend their lives...Beautifully inspired Brett...your love for the Lord is evident.
