The Loss of a Father

In Loving Memory of William Dollak

Amanda R. Dollak
You were more than just a father--
You were a daddy and a friend,
But we must press on farther,
While you're at the journey's end.
God has wrapped you in His strong arms
And has healed you of all your pain;
You are free from this world's harm.
Never to feel hurt or grief again.
O, we will cry a billion tears
And miss your laughter and smile.
Yes, we will wish you were still here
To share life's joys for a long while.
Still, we find comfort in your peace
And draw strength from the Lord above.
One day our sorrow will decrease,
Although never will our love,
For true love endures forever
And never weakens under such strain;
Instead, it grows stronger, ever,
Flourishing despite the coldest rain!
