I am consumed with anger
I just want to cry
It won't go away
No matter how hard I try
I just want to cry
It won't go away
No matter how hard I try
The fact that he's gone
I still can't accept
So many times
I have sat and wept
Losing a parent
Is so very sad
I miss him terribly
He was a great Dad
Very hard to talk about
My eyes fill with tears
People don't understand
Not even my peers
Filled with emotions
Seems all the time
Trying to express myself
Through this rhyme

Post a CommentVery sorry for your loss. Its always difficult losing someone so loved. To think about the best moments in times of laughter and happiness of memories always helped to ease a bit in it for me in my losses. ~I hope you have many of those kinds of remembrances to help comfort. ~ Your writing tribute is beautiful. (and I'm sure he somehow knows)
The anniversary of my father is coming up. He passed in 1992. Yet, not a day goes by that I do not miss him.
I can relate to this poem, it's well written. My dad died last September and I would give up anything I owned to hug him one more time.
Glad that you can express these feelings through poetry, and hope that is helpful for you.
Excellent poem. Sorry about your lost and you keep being the great writer that you are! - Kent

any of we who are older can't help but wonder how our loss will impact those we leave behind when our time comes. I wonder how your dad would feel about your feelings. Losing a loved one is an unequaled trauma for most of us... en Espanol, lo siento.
