The Loved Visitor

H. Kris Thomas
Fingertips running through the
Heavy air
Land lightly on collar bone
And heavy on the waist;
Pressing into flesh once known best
By its owner,
But now known by memory through the exchange of soft
And firm touches with a loved visitor
Who understands how to beget wild thankfulness
And strong praise from their interlocutor--
From their sweet companion.
Welcome.
