The Luck of the Irish - Limerick Love Second Time Around

My Limericks for Saint Patrick's Day Performed Poorly Last Year. Will They Get More Page Views This Year?

Tony Payne
Last year on Associated Content there was a competition for writers to publish Limericks for Saint Patrick's Day.

A wonderful competition it was too, and I read many fine poems, yet being new to Associated Content myself, many of my poems received very little traffic, which was disheartening.

A year later, I am left wondering whether with Saint Patrick's Day fast approaching, these humorous Limericks of mine will get any traffic or not. Granted I have a lot more fans on here now than I did a year ago, but there are an awful lot of good Limericks to compete with.

So to try and give these a boost, and hopefully gain some more fans for my silly poetry, here are the worst performing Limericks that I wrote last year:

Tripping And Slipping : with sadly only 25 page views in total, this could really use some loving.

Spilt On A Quilt : doing a bit better, but only 31 page views {sounds of sobbing}.

The Flowers That Bloom In the Spring : A Limerick with 35 page views. Not Irish, but a Limerick nevertheless.

Mick And His Trick : 46 page views woo-hoo. This one was trying to go somewhere, but fell flat awfully fast.

A Limerick For Saint Patrick's Day : 52 page views. Getting better - s-l-o-w-l-y.

March 17 Madness : 54 page views. {sigh}.

The Rainbows End : 58 page views. {depressing}

Saint Patrick's Day Parade : 76 page views. Looking hopeful - maybe...

My Saint Patrick's Day Plan : 86 page views. My plan, set into rhyme, was to create a lens on Squidoo that featured the best Limericks on Associated Content, with links back to them. You can see the lens here: Limericks For Saint Patrick's Day.

Maybe Limericks are not my thing, because I also published other Irish poetry:

A Poem For Saint Patrick's Day : 146 page views.

Do You Believe In Leprechauns : 118 page views.

Well what do you think? Am I destined to be a Limerick Legend, or a Limerick Loser? I know for sure I'm a Limerick Loony :)

I hope you have a chance to read my Limericks for last Saint Patrick's Day, and I will see if I can get into the right mood to create some more this year as well.
