The Lure of the Scent of a Hotdog

Absolutely Delicious and Tantalizing is the Smell!

Sondra C
Have you ever walked passed a hot dog stand
sitting out side of a local store?
The smell is tantalizing
One whiff as you pass by
Makes you dig into your pockets for dollar bills!

I wonder what makes the aroma different?
I buy the same brand of hot dog
and sauerkraut as the hot dog stand.
I use the same type of mustard,
yellow and spicy..
and yet
theirs is more delicious than mine
eating a hot dog at home

I wondered why it is nearly impossible
(unless you do not like hot dogs)
To walk on and get into your parked car
When the breeze gives you a strong
whiff of the freshly cooking hot dog.

I just went shopping for a new refrigerator
and stopped to buy only one hotdog
I was starved.
They had a sale
It came with
a free drink and a package of your choice of chips.
I bought two and ate it in the car
my daughter drove home.

I think I inhaled it instead of chewing into it
It was so delicious
with hot and spicy mustard
and piled high with
extra sauerkraut!
Just as I like it!

Hotdogs are delicious when cooked with a split pea soup. They are equally great eaten at a baseball game. Nothing is better, however, than eating the hot dog outside of a store after you have finished shopping. The aroma says 'eat me" and I usually do

I find that even when I am not hungry, just the aroma of the hot dog sizzling makes me want to buy one. I usually do. I am never sorry, they taste so good.

Love it! Cheapest thing around - yet they can charge $3 to $6 for one hotdog on a bun?! Can't beat Costco or Sam's Club.

I love this; I’ve done the exact same thing! And you’re so right: “Make the same thing at home and you can eat it or leave it.” Isn’t that weird?
