The Luxor: Las Vegas, Nevada

The Luxor was originally a temple in ancient Egypt, but now it is a well known hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. It includes two towers with rooms in them, a tower that says Luxor, a sphynx, and a pyramid with rooms in it.

The pyramid is made of glass that appears black on a sunny day, and amber on a cloudy day. The tip of the pyramid is a light. The beam is the brightest thing on the strip. You could read a book by the light if you were three miles out into space.

3,000 workers helped in the construction of the Luxor, and three of them died in the process. A Nile River ride was removed from the inside of the hotel because the guests were complaining that it was haunted because they could see the ghosts of the three workers that died when their boat went through dark tunnels.

The hotel is also said to be haunted by the ghost of a prostitute. She found out that she had AIDS, so she threw herself off of the twenty-second floor into the center of the hotel. The whole food court was removed and replaced for the fear that the area was contaminated by the AIDS virus from the prostitutes blood. She is said to haunt the twenty-second floor and to hover on guests backs during the night.

Criss Angel is a famous magician and illusionist He has his own television show called Mind Freak. In his show he performs magic and illusions on the streets of Las Vegas, Nevada. Now he has two shops inside the Luxor and his own arena. He performs a theatrical performance called Believe. He signed a thirty year contract with the Luxor. It is a spectacular show featuring magic, smoke, fire, and dancers from Cirque Du Soliel. If given a chance, this show is worth ones stay at the Luxor. It is a can not miss opportunity. If one is lucky enough, they might even see him walking around the hotel.

The Luxor features a wide variety of restaurants, clubs, shows, and casino games such as slot machines and poker. Aside from Criss Angel's and Cirque Du Soliel's Believe, the Luxor is also the home to Carrot Top's nightly show. Along with steak and Asian specialty restaurants, they also have an all you can eat buffet. One can even get an all day pass for the buffet. That is more than worth the price.

The Luxor is a magnificent Egyptian themed hotel and photo opportunity located between Mandalay Bay and the Excalibur on the strip (Las Vegas Blvd.) in the world famous Las Vegas, Nevada!
