The MacBook Pro: Is it Worth the Thousand for Its Memory?
See If This Expensive Laptop is Worth Every Single Penny!
The Macbook pro is manufactured from only one block of aluminum, making it durable. It has a backlit keyboard, iSight Camera, and most importantly has a brilliant operating system. It runs on Snow Leopard operating system and has many programs and software that the normal 300 buck Compaq laptop doesn't have. It has many features including Garageband, Photobooth, iPhoto, iMovie, etc. It also is arguably easier to use than Windows laptops. It allows developers state-of-the-ark technology like xCode where developers can make apps for Apple's App Store. The battery length is also enormous as it lasts for a whooping 8 hours. Many Windows laptops have trouble with only 2 hours! The size of this machine is also amazing as it is less than 1 inch thick and weighs around 4 pounds making it ultra-portable.
A drawback of the Macbook pro is it's lack of substantial memory and hard drive. The 13.3" Macbook pro costs 1200 dollars and only comes with two gigabyte ram! A Dell Thinkpad for 400 dollars can come with four gigabyte ram! The Macbook pro is significantly more than the Dell Thinkpad but only has a fraction of the memory. The hard drive is also lacking size, only being able to store 160 gigabyte. Upgrades to a larger RAM can be achieved but only for a extra price of 200 dollars for a 4 gigabyte upgrade. It is obviously outrageous on the way Apple charges such a massive amount for a laptop that has less performance than a lot cheaper laptop. However, the processor of the Macbook allows for high definition gaming with NVIDIA graphics. The lack of adequate space in the hard drive means that users would have to delete disk space or have to buy a new hard drive.
Although the Macbook pro is expensive and lacks RAM/Hard Drive space, it is definitely worth the price for several reasons. It is easy to use, has one of the technologically advanced operating system, and is portable. So what are you waiting for, if you were thinking you should buy a Macbook, make your move!
