Machan: The Unique Tree house
Tourists regularly venture to Machan to realize their ultimate childhood dream - spending a night up in a tree house. Secluded and serene, it is the perfect place to visit for a weekend or a romantic getaway (Machan is kids friendly; however, young children should be kept under supervision.)
The unique steel and wood tree house structure stands at a height of 45 ft. from the ground offering a picturesque view of the evergreen forests, neighboring mountains, as well as the peaceful serenity of the Pauna and Mulshi lakes.
A night in the tree house resort transports you to an abode where peace and harmony prevails. Amidst the peace all you hear are insects buzzing and birds chirping.
Along with a close association with nature, Machan is eco-friendly in the way it functions. The electricity is generated through their personal wind and solar farm and water is pumped from a 300ft. deep well. Completely devoid of pollution, Machan was inducted to the Emerald City by CNN, as one of the most eco-friendly destinations of the world.
Accommodation
The Machan offers three bedrooms, two private bathrooms and a kitchenette. The rooms are comfortable and the decor is pleasant. However, guests have access to no televisions, phones or Internet.
The tree house is divided into a Main Deck, the Hanging Room, the Loft and the Crow's Nest.
The main deck comprises of a glass balcony and deck that provides a spectacular view of the valley, evergreen trees, wild flowers, birds and animals. Out on the deck is a lounge area with a large dining table.
Suspended below from the Main Deck is the Hanging Room that is enclosed by glass and offers a gorgeous view of the forest, mountains and the lakes. However, for a complete aerial view of the valley and a gorgeous view of the sunrise and the sunset, guests opt to visit the Crow's Nest, located around 40ft. from the Main Deck.
Every level comes well-equipped with double beds and lounge chairs that allow you to savour the peace and tranquillity and witness nature at its best.
Price
The Machan can accommodate six adults. A three-day weekend getaway costs around $600. The price includes dinner and breakfast for all guests. A minimum two night stay is required.
