If you have ever watched the movie Sleepless in Seattle, you probably believe that there is something almost magical about the Empire State Building in New York City. It is one of the tallest buildings in the world. Tons of people travel from all over the world to visit this special place. It is actually rare for a person to visit New York and not actually go visit the Empire State Building because it is so well known. There is so much about the Empire State Building to love.

Location

The Empire State Building is located in Manhattan in New York City. It is right in the middle of the Big Apple. You can see it from almost any location in New York City because it is so tall. It can be found at 350 Fifth Avenue at 34th Street in New York, NY 10118. It is a grand site to see.

Magical

From my own personal experience, I can tell you that there is definitely something magical about being at the Empire State Building. The last time I went there I went with my husband. We both felt excitement while traveling up to the observatory deck at the Empire State Building. The Empire State Building was built in the early 1930's, and so you feel the mixture of old and new. The views of New York City were magnificent. It is the type of view that will stay in your memory forever.

Observatory

There are two observatory decks that most people go to on top of the Empire State Building. The most common one is on the 86th floor. The other one is on the 102nd floor. It is open from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m. with the last elevator going up to the observation deck at 1:15 a.m. It is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Tickets

In order to go up to the observatory deck in the Empire State Building you will need to buy a ticket. You can buy them online or in the Empire State Building itself. A regular ticket costs $18.45 plus tax for adults ages 13 -61. Children ages 6 '" 12 are $12.92 plus tax, and seniors age 62 and up are $16.61 plus tax. Children age 5 and under are free. Military people in uniform also get in for free. There are also express pass tickets which means you can pass thru waiting lines easily, and go right up to the observatory deck for the cost of $41.52 plus tax for all ages.
