The Magic Health Benefits of Delicious Green Tea

Ben Speaker
Tonight I went to the grocery store and picked up some more green tea. I drink it all the time because, well, it's one of the best things you can drink.

Even better than plain old clear water.

I see people forever slugging bottles of crisp, clean, clear water. And I'm not knocking the water-drinkers.. but there is such thing as too much.

Besides, all water gives you is... water. Unless you drink the fancy stuff that comes with added mineral salts, which is not healthy at all. (If not properly balanced, these mineral salts can so greatly upset the delicate mineral balance in your system that by drinking bottled water, you're actually depleting your body's mineral reserves!)

If you're not a green tea drinker, I urge you to try some. If it's too bitter for your taste, add a little sweetener like sugar or saccharin. Just stay away from anything with aspartame -- it's toxic to your brain.

A few tips for buying green tea:

First, stay away from the cheap stuff. It's loaded with caffeine. REAL green tea does NOT have caffine. Period.

Second, the best green tea I've found is from Stash Tea - www.stashtea.com - and it's called Gunpowder Green tea. This stuff is excellent. The leaves are wrapped in tiny pellets that you put in boiling water and they unfold. The best part is that you can drink it all day and night long without getting a buzz or having to visit the restroom 10 times an hour.

Third, the second best tea I've had is Tazo China Green Tips. It comes in a teabag, not nearly as good as the gunpowder tea, but still pretty darn good.

So why should you drink green tea anyway?

Well, it's GREEN. Any dark green plant for the most part is going to have potent antioxidant properties. It helps digestion, sleep, and -- get this -- mental clarity and concentration.

If you think I'm joking, order yourself some Gunpowder Green and try it. (No, I don't get a commission from it.)

The Chinese drink green tea like Americans drink soda, and they live quite a long time in great health. Time to take a tip from the Orient.
