Born in Tulsa,Oklahoma in 1962 Garth was the youngest of six children and was destined for greatness.He proved so in the 1990's where he dominated the country music world. He broke both sales and concert attendance records not just nationwide but worldwide as well.

His first album tilted 'Garth Brooks' was released in 1989 scoring him two number #1 hits with "If tomorrow never comes" and "The dance" also scoring a #2 off the same album with "Not counting you".

His follow up album 'No Fences' was released the following year in 1990 and spent 23 weeks as the #1 album on the Country Billboard Music chart and eventually became his highest selling album racking up over 16 million dollars in sales.

Blazing up the arenas with his captivating concert tours, his on stage performances made people fall in love with Garth and his admiration for his fans were just as evident. In 1997 he showed his appreciation to his fans and held a free concert (which was also televised),in New York City at Central Park,the attendees estimated at over 750,000.

Then in 1998 Garth released a 2 disc CD collection tilted ' Double Live' a onslaught of his songs recorded live at his concerts worldwide.The 'Double Live' CD set has been dubbed the best selling live album in music history and the fastest selling country album ever,selling in excess of 32 million copies worldwide.

In 1992 Garth won his first Grammy for Best Male Vocal Performance and in the years 1990,1991,1992 and 1993 he won Academy of Country Music Award for Entertainer of the Year and in 1990 and 1991 for Top Male Artist of the Year.The 1990's were definitely overpowered by Garth-mania.

In 2001Garth and his then wife Sandy divorced putting more pressure on Garth to define himself as a father and a performer knowing he'd have to give in somewhere,in his frustration of home life and road life,home life won.Garth announced his official retirement in 2001 so he could be at home more with his three young girls and has proclaimed that "being a father is a lot harder than touring".

Since 2001 Garth has only made special performances with his now wife,Trisha Yearwood for causes such as,Shelter From the Storm:A Concert for the Gulf Coast and Hurricane Katrina Telethon relief.He also performed at the 80th birthday celebration at the Grand Ole Opry.In 2005 Garth released a single in tribute to his good friend Chris LeDoux tilted "Good Ride Cowboy" which quickly reached #1.

On August 18,2007 Garth held a press conference in Nashville where he announced a new box set of Cd's called 'The Ultimate Hits' including four brand new songs and one which debuted at #1 "More than a memory" becoming the highest debuting single in the chart's history.So,just what have Garth Brooks fans been waiting for?On September 27,2007 announcements spread like wild fire over the radio airwaves Garth was set to perform his "comeback" concert in Kansas City, Missouri at the new Sprint Center on November 14,2007.

October 6th 2007 the tickets went on sale and fans flocked to the locations standing in line for hours before the venues even opened and just to be Garth-like he added 8 more shows,selling out all 9 shows in less than 2 hours.

Many times over you will hear those that have been fortunate enough to have been to a Garth Brooks concert testify that it is the best concert that they have ever attended.He gives his all at every performance and leaves the thousands in attendance feeling like a part of his life.Garth's gratefulness radiates through his smile and his eyes, he truly is thankful for his fans because they have made him who he his,a legend that is Garth Brooks.
