Flaxseed is known throughout the world and has been around for over thousands of years. In this article I will discuss the origin of flaxseeds, the benefits, and how to eat flaxseed.

Flaxseed has been eaten by humans and animals around the world for thousands of years. Flaxseed is not just a nice tasting seed. Flaxseed has many health benefits that can help us to live long fruitful lives. Flaxseed is grown in the United States and Canada in cool climate areas that have big fields. The flaxseed comes in a brown color and is very small seeds. You can buy flaxseed in any food store, or herbal health food store. The flaxseed comes in seeds, powder, and an oil form. The powdered form is usually the most favorite because it is easier to digest and has all the nutrients. The flaxseed seeds tend to digest quickly passing through your body without giving you any nutrients. The oil of the flaxseed lacks a lot of nutrition as well and can interfere if you have gallstone problems. Flaxseed usually comes in a vacuum sealed plastic bag. Flaxseed can be refrigerated or left out in room temperature either way it will be good for months.

The benefits of flaxseed are amazing we will now discuss a few. Flaxseed can give us such a healthy life that we don't even need any other foods. Flax seed cleans out your arteries and pores keeping them clear so your blood can flow perfectly. Flaxseed helps provide the body with fiber and lignin which helps the body fight against cancer. Flaxseed is also good for inflammation of the intestine and acid reflux. Flaxseed helps the inflamed intestines to calm down with the help of the flaxseed oil.

The nutrients in the flaxseed can also help lower diabetes. Not only does the fiber help against cancer but flaxseed helps relive digestion problems especially constipation. Flaxseed helps soften the stools with the aid of water thus decreasing your risk of being constipated. Flaxseed helps in lowering the pain of inflammation caused by arthritis pain in your joints and muscles. Flaxseed also helps raise your immune system which can help you fight against getting the flu or overcoming it. Another great benefit of flaxseed is that it helps brain function which helps fight depression; Alzheimer's, gives u energy, and helps you throughout the day. For these reasons and many others is why flaxseed is very beneficial to our overall health.

Flaxseed can be eaten at least 2 to 3 times a day with each meal or as a snack. Just about one to two tablespoons of flaxseed powder or one teaspoon of the oil will do just fine. There are a lot of products that have flaxseed such as breads, cereals, oatmeal, flour, crackers, and other baked goods. Some of the ways to eat flaxseed are as follows. If you're using the flaxseed oil is to use it in a salad dressing or when frying and cooking foods. Flaxseed powder can be used on your cereal, rice, oatmeal, etc. You can replace your normal products such as flour, eggs, butter and so on with flaxseed powder and oils.
