Honey is a very nutritional food which also has medical properties we can use when keeping ourselves healthy. Honey is said to be beneficial in helping with many problems such as:
Arthritis, indigestion, Colds and Flu, hairloss, toothache, bladder infections, high cholesterol, infertility, upset tummy, gas, heart disease, pimples, boosting the immune system, relieving allergies and clearing up skin infections - I am sure there are many others.
When conducting a search for remedies or recipes for honey, simply type in the word "honey" along with the word for the ailment or condition you need the recipe for. Millions of combinations of other ingredients mixed with honey are said to have been used for many thousands of years as a fix-all. If you look to your local mall and the food court, you may just find a smoothie stand where bee pollen can be added to your fruity beverages. Powdered bee pollen in your smoothie is not even noticeable, try some. You can also get powdered bee pollen to add to foods at home.
According to an article on Health And Fitness Solutions, mice were clinically tested for malnutrition after having been on a diet of bee pollen alone and there was no evidence there was a problem with the mice whatsoever. I don't recommend a diet of just bee pollen though, even though it does contain vitamins A,B,C,D and E.
Another exciting report was the fact that men with low sperm counts were said to have at least a 50% increase and also reported improved sex drive.
It is recommended that you purchase freeze dried bee pollen when taking it as a dietary supplement since pollens processed any other way lose nutritional value. The United States Food And Drug Administration has specific regulations regarding the manufacturing of Bee Pollen Supplements. You may wish to call your nearby health food store to ask them if they have any, and whether or not it makes any mention of the FDA.
A company which makes a wonderful Bee Pollen product is "Xtendlife" from New Zealand.
