The Many Medicinal, Metaphysical and Culinary Benefits of the Herb Mugwort (Artemisia Vulgaris)

Janet Roof
Mugwort, also known as Wormwood, Traveler's Herb, Felon Herb or Muggons and is one of the most essential herbs housed in a Witches pantry.

Mugwort grows around the world along roadways, hence the nickname Traveler's Herb.

This dream herb will ease you to the spirit realm giving you the power of clarity during interpretation, cognitive dreaming and recollection. Mugwort assists in trance rituals and precognitive dreaming of the future bringing dreams to life with vivid color.

For women it will ease and regulate menstrual cycles and prevent miscarriage and cramping. Mugwort increases fertility and can be added to massage oil and rubbed on the womb area to ease menstrual problems and childbirth.

Mugwort will prevent fright, and hysteria, sleepwalking and dizziness or put it in your shoes for protection and strength when traveling. Also used for insomnia and nervousness. It even kills internal parasitic worms.

Use this herb for Warding, to (repel/banish) beasts, spirits/entities and negative energies through smudging and incense. It is a wonderful herb for clearing the home of negativity and protection.

Heighten your work ethic by burning Mugwort before you begin or stuff it into your pillow for dream powers or store them with your beater sticks and rattles.

A wreath of Mugwort over the doors of your home will give you protection against negative energies and entities. Deflect lightening by burning in a fireplace or stove.

Crowns of Mugwort warn on Midsummer which are thrown into fire will protect you from danger and sickness in the coming year. This wonderful herb is protective of children.

Mugwort is ruled by Venus and regards sacredness to Artemis the Moon Goddess.

Infuse your bath with Mugwort for an invigorating experience or use the dried leaves to brew beers.

To harvest this magnificent herb, cut stems only with leaves after the sun burns off the dew but before the extreme heat of the day. (Damp plants will get moldy)

Dry the plants in bundles remove damaged leaves, hang upside down n a cool space out of direct sunlight for about a week or so. When dry, pull the leaves off (keep flowers separate they are NOT for consumption) and scrunch them up and place in an air tight glass jar.

Roll leaves and stems to create smudge sticks, use them as kindling for sacred fires.

I love this herb and hope you find this information useful. Have a safe, happy and educational day.

Blessed be,

JanetKarmel
