The Many Uses of Mini Pumpkins

Aida Shallcross
Mini pumpkins are a big seller in the fall season, so it's no surprise we're seeing them pop up everywhere these days. But what can you do with a mini pumpkin? You don't have to let your little pumpkins just sit there on a table. There is so much more you can do with your mini pumpkins, and you can read on to get some ideas.

Make a wreath

Wreaths are always a nice decorative touch to any home, apartment, or office, but can run pretty expensive. Here's an article that instructs you on how to make a wreath using mini pumpkins for just a fraction of the cost of a pre-made wreath.

Family scavenger hunt

Think Easter egg hunt, but with mini pumpkins. There are many family gatherings at this time of year, including Halloween and Thanksgiving get-togethers, and hiding these little treasures can provide lots of fun for children of all ages. You can offer a prize to the one who finds the most pumpkins.

Light your path

With Halloween right around the corner, many people are expecting ghoulish vistors, aka children in costumes. Why not add a whimsical touch to your home's front path while lighting the way and keeping our little ones safe? You can purchase a group of mini pumpkins, carve and gut them, and throw in an LED light that looks like a flame but is safter and lasts longer than a candle.

Use as containers

There are lots of things you can throw into a mini pumpkin and use them as cute little containers. This article will give you a number of ideas on what you can use mini pumpkin 'containers' for.

Make candles

How about adding some ambience to your home? This article highlights how you can create charming candles out of your mini pumpkins...it's a craft that costs little money and older children can really enjoy.

Treat them like their bigger counterparts

You can paint and make jack-o-lanterns out of mini pumpkins. It might require a little more patience to carve these, but it's well worth it when you see the end result. And little pumpkins are perfect for the little hands of younger children, who will build confidence and self esteem in painting these themselves.

If you use your imagination and creativity, I'm sure you can find many ways to use a mini pumpkin other than just letting it sit on a table. Why not have as much fun as you can with these perfect little seasonal treats?

These are really cute ideas. One year I let my little one carve a tiny pumpkin and he won a contest with it because it was so unique.
