The Meaning Behind Spring Flowers

What Does Your Garden Say About You?

Demetria M. Keys
For me, spring is the romantic season. It exists as a time when subtle breezes whisper in the ears of once alienated lovers. Revealing secrets, while playing at the pleats of dainty women's dresses and ruffling suit coats of debonair businessmen; spring romances us. Captivating us with its bold gardens and flowerbeds, we find ourselves entranced by spring's seductiveness; as floral scents politely kiss our brow. Spring is the aficionado that brings laughter to the faces of haunted bodies stolid from winter's sometimes abusive disposition.

Wooed by our sophisticated lover, we play dress up…prettying our own gardens, we become landscaping geniuses. However, many of us have no clue of the message we are sending. What is the meaning behind the flowers we choose? Below, I have listed the names of several spring flowers and their meanings. This spring, why not send the right message. After all, mixed signals ruin relationships. Before you know it, winter is back to bite us in the gluteus maximus.
