The Media Should Learn to Not Jump to Conclusions

I didn't think I would have to comment on this but what I've seen from the media is the typical steroids issue that is always being brought up. The only reason it even gets brought up is due to the typical stereotype of if there is a wrestler, it is automatically dubbed steroids. This all came about recently with the Chris Benoit situation with the talk of "roid rage" being the reason for allegedly killing his wife and son. To be quite honest, it could not be just that. There had to be something else that could very well had caused him to snap like that in a 3-day spell. To my knowledge, "Roid Rage" is something that doesn't occur over a 3-day span. It doesn't add up exactly and the media is just not looking into it as much as they could. Instead, the whole crusade is about attacking the WWE and that's about it. There is such a thing as waiting for the results as to what the cause of death truly is. Everything right now is pure speculation but the full answer will never be revealed most likely as to the mindset. Steroids may or may not have played a factor but should it be proven that it wasn't the case, then the media should actually admit to being wrong and do research before jumping to conclusions.

There are former WWE/WCW wrestlers being interviewed about their take on steroids and if they knew Chris Benoit like Bret Hart and a close friend of his that used to wrestle in Chris Jericho. From those interviews, it does sound like they knew him and couldn't believe what transpired and what went on in his mind. While there were other guests like Warrior, whom really didn't really have much of a relationship or knew Chris Benoit that well, it was mainly involving steroid use. I had actually watched it but they should have let him speak. What was the point of having him as a guest on Hannity and Colmes if he wasn't allowed to speak at all and kept getting interrupted every 5 minutes? For me personally, it got annoying and the most ignorant comment on the show was any use of steroids is abuse. That is very ignorant and there is a different between use and abuse. Abuse is going over board when it comes to any substance and use is making a choice on how much to go with. Steroids can be used to make you bigger, stronger, and faster but also can help you for medical reasons. Is it abuse if it was under a certified physician's care?

Also, when someone from the media has never covered or even watched it, they make the comment of it being fake. Well, to say its fake is to say that no one actually gets hurt but that's not the case. The better term would be predetermined. While the outcomes are known in advance, there are no cuts and retakes to get it done like in a Hollywood movie or a TV show. It really shows lack of being informed or not bothering to do research on pro wrestling themselves.

Of course, it is true some media members have decided to wait on the results of the toxicology before saying what really happened and that is smart. Why can't anyone do the same thing? In fact, this whole ordeal is pretty much a method used to attack WWE and for their own personal vendettas. Is it the WWE's fault for these deaths? No it isn't. Death can happen at any time.

Are there steroids? They're probably are some but as far as abusive, that's another story. It's most likely a very private matter done by individuals themselves and not because the company supplies them. The people make the choice to do the stuff and not the company. It's a matter of personal choice and there would be consequences of the action taken.

The media should actually think about something else that could have caused it possibly. What if it's found out that a 3rd party got involved? Then what happens, will the media apologize for it? Of course not, it's pro wrestling they have to bash it. By the media so it's clear, is the people who don't follow wrestling or are pre-programmed to automatically trash pro wrestling. They should wait for everything before saying what is the true cause of death instead of jumping to conclusions.
