You will eat five Medifast meals per day and 1 "lean and green" meal daily. A Medifast meal is an individually packaged meal replacement that can be mixed with water, microwaved or refrigerated to create a variety of meals. Medifast meals come in several forms, such as; shakes, bars, pudding, creamy soups, chili, oatmeal and hot cocoa.
The "lean and green" meal consists of 7 ounces of turkey, chicken or fish or you may wish to substitute 5 ounces of lean beef, pork or lamb. This lean meat must be prepared by baking, grilling or poaching without adding oil. You may flavor your meal with salt, pepper, spices or herbs. You may also wish to add 1-2 teaspoons of any condiment. That is the "lean" part of the meal.
The "green" part of the meal can consist of 2 cups of salad greens and ½ cup of raw vegetables or you may have 11/2 cups of cooked vegetables in place of the raw vegetables. You can also flavor this with 1-2 tablespoons of non-fat dressing.
Because you are eating every 2-3 hours this will help you avoid feeling hungry. This diet is packaged in individual packages that can be prepared anywhere, making it easier to stick to the program. If you follow the Medifast Diet Program, you should have no problem reaching your goal weight very quickly.
